Great sausage, and amazing pies. A traditional family run butchers, cheery smile, friendly place and a shop wher you get what you want. Not many of this type of butchers left. Makes a change from the more commercialised butchers that you find in so may towns nowadays. Excellent !!!!!

Most of the time I buy for one only. Stephen explains cuts of meat and prices. Very helpful with customers whether they buy a small cut or spending lots of money. I have known Stephen about 30 years +, when he worked for his dad in the same shop, I've never seen him downcast yet. He is always happy.

Well what can I say about Berkins? Where do you start?... His sausages are amazing, the dry cure bacon is to die for and his pork&mustard pies are the best pies my fellas ever had - and that's saying something! He's got to be the chirpiest butcher I have ever met, and always cheers up my hangover induced gloomy Saturday mornings when I pop in to stock up for the week. I am lucky enough to live round the corner from him, and having such a top quality butcher right on my doorstep is an absolute treat. Definitely my food hero!

What can I say that others have not already said before. The best sausages in England, the greatest pork pies with variations and the best bacon I have tasted for years (and thats a lot of years!). All served by the most cheerful butcher I have ever met and his meat`s a treat too!

Berkins butchers is the perfect example of what a great butchers should be. Great Quality produce and a real warm welcome every time. The bacon both traditional and sweet is sooooo tastey, and his sausages are smashing. I haven't tasted bacon like this since I was a kid..and as for his Pork Pies, all 4 different flavours are superb, full of good lean meat with a light delcious pastry...can never make my mind up so always have 1 of each! Certainly won't go anywhere else now that we've found him. Great food and great Northern hospitality make him a real credit to Burnley and the North West..
