Description
Cheerful owner PJ created a pie pub because he thought people would enjoy it, and he was right! Be sure to book in advance because PJ makes every pie to order and every pie is different. Choose from deer and duck, gammon and parsnip, and ten other wonderful flavours. Ingredients are sourced locally where possible and game is supplied by local gamekeeper Drew Doggitt.

Traditional pub atmosphere that I thought was long gone and food that is simply delicious and great value.

Real home made food with subtle twists - a winning combination. The new hare and pigeon pie is a great addition to an already excellent menu. It is always a pleasure to go to PJ’s Pie Pub. Guaranteed good food, drink and an extremely friendly and entertaining host. Given the quality of the pies, the ingredients and the taste of PJ‘s pies, it is always excellent value too!

P'J's Pie Pub is a unique and delectable experience that will tickle your taste buds and transport you to a different world of pure homemade food. PJ creates the most delicious pie's I have ever tasted. This may be due to the freshly grown ingredients used in every pie, which derive from the surrounding area, or the perfect pastry, or even the superb personal service; it is hard to tell! In a world of takeaway foods, ready meals and microwaveable pub food it is refreshing to have a pub that has gone back to basics and actually cooks their food from scratch. You can often arrive at PJ's and be greeted by a rabbit hanging on his door, left by the local gamekeeper, or enter the pub to be met by a flustered PJ running around letting everyone try his new Pie creation. The Deer and Duck Pie is a pie that just has to be tried! The succulent meat just falls off the fork and the gravy is a delicious mix of flavours that get all your taste buds tingling. The new addition to the menu the Pheasant Plucker’s Pie is a real aromatic pie and the Hare and Pigeon is a light, well cooked pie with a rich gravy. As you can tell there is a wide variety of pies and even some vegetarian pies too! Whether you have a taste for a Port and Sweet Potatoes Pie, a Chuck Duck and Cranberry or a simple Game Pie, PJ’s is the place to try it. However, it is not just food that makes this Pub my local hero, it is the landlord himself. He is a superb entertainer and he is more like a host than a landlord, a person that can really make your night. PJ is a bil review this place now
