Description
The traditional black and white inn stands in a very remote but truly idyllic bay overlooking Skye. It's a location to fall in love with and if the weather's fine, take in the award-winning view from the beer garden. Otherwise huddle around the wood-burning stove savouring the aroma of burning peat, and enjoy a menu of local produce, simply prepared, whether it's fresh haddock in crispy batter with chips and homemade tartare sauce or Applecross estate venison on a bed of creamy mash with fresh vegetables.

We stayed in Applecross last week, the food here was amazing from the home made shortbread, to the prawns from the bay. When we come back up to this area we'll be making sure we stop of for dinner again

Wonderful food, glorious setting, friendly & helpful staff, well worth travelling many miles for the experience (as we do!), but most of all - wonderful food!

What a glorious setting for eating some truly splendid food.

We`ve watched this place grow over the past 4 or 5 years from a tiny cafe serving coffee, scones and soups (all delicious) to a wonderful restaurant serving fresh local produce (much of which you can see growing a few feet away from your table), beautifully and imaginatively prepared and presented. It`s up there with the very best restaurants in Scotland but still manages to stay relaxed and informal - they still do sandwiches and scones along with the more ambitious stuff and they`re more than happy to do home made burgers and chips if that`s what you or the kids fancy! And all of this in a location which can justifiably be described as magical. It`s a tremendous achievement by everyone involved - in both the garden and the kitchen.

Fantastic surroundings, nice atmosphere, friendly service and excellent food made with fresh local produce. Worth the long drive. Amelia & Stephen

The young and enthusiastic staff provide a welcoming and relaxing environment, particularly suitable for this magical part of the world. The delicious meals, made up from mostly locally sourced suppliers, are imaginatively prepared, and make you want to return again and again - and I do.

I visited Applecross Walled Gardens for Hogmanay this year. The 7 course meal we had was superb!!! The food was locally produced some of which consisted of Salmon and Fillet Steak. The Cream of Jerusalem Artichoke Soup was one of the best soups I have ever tasted. Their after dinner chocolates were also home made. Applecross Walled Garden is an absolute must for a visit. Fantastic.

The place is absolutely wonderful. What an atmosphere! The staff work so hard and are genuinely pleased when you are! Superb food in the most spectacular setting - if you are to visit Wester Ross, you MUST eat here.

The picture of the garden does not do it justice! I can see a lot of hard work has been input to make the gardens and restaurant so special. Fabulous for kids, with the lawn and tree house at the back of the gardens to play in. Fantastic, fresh locally sourced food with tastes to die for. The only time my son was quiet during my weeks holiday in Applecross was eating his Chocolate Cake with ice cream. Thank you John and Elaine for your hospitality. Janeane (Edinburgh)
