The Feathers Inn offers a concise menu that manages to deliver a wonderful range of local seasonal dishes - from Tyne Salmon and Northumberland Beef to the truly magnificent range of regional cheeses, the quality of food on offer is matched wholeheartedly by equally impressive service

Several others have said it already but it's worth repeating: the vegetarian options are FAB! (Plenty for meat-eaters too). Last time I was there I had the chestnut & lentil cottage pie - it was out of this world.

Rhian and Helen are 100% committed to offering locally sourced food and drink. The quality of the food is exceptional and the atmosphere and friendliness makes this local pub stand out from all of the rest. The lack pudding is my absolute favourite. scotty

Living only a few miles away we had intended getting round to trying out the Feathers for a while now. Now we have and are very pleased we did. The black pudding was gorgeous and the lamb justed melted in the mouth. We'll certainly be back again!

Took my wife here for her birthday lunch today. Excellent food, great staff loved the Auld Hemp Ale and the Wheelbirks ice cream. Keep it up and keep it local! mick

The food is created using the finest local ingredients by a genuine enthusiast - there is love in that kitchen and it is apparent in ever plate set in front of you. Happily I live locally - the 'local'adds a goodly % to property prices hereabout!

My partner and I visited the Feathers today and thought it was excellent. The menu was varied and sourced locally. We had starters and main's both of which were superb but alas too full to sample a sweet. The staff were friendly and attentive, atmosphere quiet but pleasant and the bill surprisingly modest. We will be returning as soon as possible.

Creative cooking of locally sourced, seasonal produce. The quality is amazing and consistent and the wine list varied and very reasonably priced. This relaxed little establishment has such an unexpectedly large personality, it's a true joy to have it on our doorstep. review this place now
