His trademark is to transform common ingredients into amazing dishes through whimsical presentations and unusual cooking methods. His artful approach to cooking combined with his confidence and contagious enthusiasm have given him a loyal following around the globe.

His career kicked off by accident in 1992 whilst on a break from and travelling with a group of musicians. His ‘give anything a go’ attitude meant he picked up cooking skills quickly which led him on to coming up with the unique concept for The Surreal Gourmet.

He is also a judge at several wine competitions including the prestigious Los Angeles county fair and the San Francisco wine competition.

Originally from Canada, he now lives in the Hollywood hills, in the shadow the Hollywood sign. When he is not travelling he cycles daily in the canyons near his home, doing his best to stay in shape for his next big adventure.
