A chef has designed a menu for students at Queens' College, Cambridge University, to help them through this year's exam.

Hans Schweitzer has drawn up a special healthy food menu to boost brain power and reduce stress for undergraduates.

The Michelin-starred chef has cooked for a host of leading dignitaries and is now head chef at the college. He is keen to tempt students away from junk food like pizza and chips and introduce grilled and baked meat and fish into their diets.

Mr Schweitzer told the Telegraph: "This diet has been created to reduce stress, boost the immune system and give the students lots of energy to ensure their bodies are working effectively and they feel good."

The new exam menu features pre-packed salads, vegetable stir-fry, steamed Scottish salmon with vegetable julienne, chicken with avocado salsa, pepper korma with basmati rice and tabbouleh with Moroccan vegetables.

Schweitzer set up Cambridge restaurant Midsummer House in 1988 before establishing the La Mer Restaurant at the exclusive Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados, which he ran between 1994 and 2000. He moved back to Cambridge last year and is now head chef at Queens' College.
