Since she was five years old Jane has been appearing in films, television and the theatre. As an actress her work was twice nominated for a BAFTA and she won a Sony award for her work on the radio.

Jane has also turned her hand to writing, having published three best-selling novels and more than a dozen lifestyle and cake decorating books.

In 1990 Jane opened the Jane Asher Party Cake shop making bespoke decorated cakes and sugarcraft goods. She has also gone on to develop her own range of cake mixes.

In 2001 Jane received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Bristol University.
