Mary started her career as a cookery editor for Housewife magazine and then moved on to Ideal Home magazine, which led to features for nearly all the main cookery titles in the UK. She has gone on to write over 40 cookery books around the themes of real food fast, family dishes, easy entertaining and her beloved Aga. Mary's love of the Aga led The Mail On Sunday's You magazine to say, 'Mary Berry is to Aga what Pavarotti is to opera.'

Mary has presented seven series' for Thames TV, as well as Mary Berry's Ultimate Cakes and Mary Berry at Home for BBC One. Mary makes regular appearances on BBC Two's Saturday Kitchen, BBC Radio Four's Woman's Hour, as well as UKTV Food's own Great Food Live.
