Angela Hartnett
Still in her 30s, Angela Hartnett has become one of the most high profile women in the restaurant world. One of Gordon Ramsay's protégés, in 2002 she became the first ever female head chef at The Connaught Hotel.
Angela has a long affiliation with the Ramsay empire from Aubergine to Zafferano and L'Oranger. She climbed the ranks from sous-chef to head chef at Petrus and co-launched Amaryllis in Scotland with David Dempsey in 2001. A stint in Dubai followed where she helped Ramsay with his new venture Verre. Returning to England she became Chef Patron at M E N U and The Grill Room at The Connaught which was awarded a Michelin star under her tenure. Returning to her Italian roots she opening the Italian-influenced restaurant Murano in London in August 2008.
A frequent guest on Market Kitchen and Great Food Live she’s also appeared on television in Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen, The Great British Menu and Sunday Lunch Live. Amazingly she’s also found time to pen a book Angela Hartnett's Cucina and also writes a regular feature for Delicious Magazine. Phew…
