Madhur Jaffrey
Madhur Jaffrey was born in Delhi and began her career as an actress.
At 19 years old, Madhur came to London to study drama at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and taught herself to cook through correspondence with her mother.
She wrote her first book in 1974, and in 1982 the BBC series Madhur Jaffrey's Indian Cooking made her a household name. She has writen over 15 bestselling cookery books on Asian cuisine.
