Monisha Bharadwaj
Specialising in smart and stylish Indian cuisine, chef Monisha Bharadwaj is a professional classical Indian dancer and has cooked for the deputy Prime Minister of India.
After completing a degree in Hotel Management and Catering in Mumbai, Monisha worked as a food consultant to the Times of India group of companies, creating menus for Bollywood film stars and high office politicians. She also ran a successful and exclusive private catering company in Mumbai before moving to the UK.
In 1998 Monisha published her first book, The Indian Kitchen, which included simple Indian recipes and commentary on the basic ingredients that go into these dishes. Five years later Stylish Indian in Minutes won the Guild of Food Writers Cookery Book of the Year 2003 and was short listed for the Jacob's Creek World Food Media Awards.
Monisha contributes to several magazines such as Elle, Delicious and Food and Travel in the UK and Cookery Plus in India. She has written 12 books.
