Tom Parker Bowles lack of dress sense

Thread Starter: CarolynM21651    Started: Tue 06 Oct 2009    Replies: 23

MARKET KITCHEN - All the Presenters look good except for Tom Parker Bowles. Why does he have to look so scruffy with the endless repetition of T Shirt and V Neck Sweaters. He looks like he has come in straight from the garden! I don't have a problem with wearing jeans, Matt Tebbett wears them with cool shirts. Even with casual sweaters he is so much smarter.
When Tom does wear an occasional open neck shirt, he looks great. So come on Tom, how about a change.

Carolyn

Kim thats true, casual doesn't mean unhygienic. Actually thats his fashion taste he thinks by dressing casual, thats the new fashion, to him. His mum doesn't have a fashion taste, if you noticed. Cheeky

Hi Cornetto, yes, a nice dress indeed, glad you thought so too.

Hi Peter, I agree that standards of hygiene and presentation are important, but overly casual dress does not mean unhygienic. It's just a case of personal taste.....no pun intended.

Ooh bring on the cake, fancy a bit of Victoria sponge and a nice cup of tea.

Hi Kim.It was a nice dress, she wears a lot of dresses. But women always have to make an effort, don't they? They will be critised more than poor Tom, if she was scruffy. I can never find a dress that will suit me. BHug

Hi Cornetto
You may well be right I just know they are related.

Anyway a privileged background that you would have engendered a better dress sense.

And Hi To Kim. I have no problem with casual dress. Matt Tebbutt is casual, but smart, Tom just looks scruffy and it is particularly off putting when he tries to cook. Sorry, this is a cookery programme and standards of presentation and hygiene are paramount.

Not into dresses so can't help you with Amanda's choice.

I don't mind the cosy "next door neighbour" feel about the show and the clothes they wear.

But I LOVED Amanda's dress worn on the show when "The Soldiers" appeared.

It was a multicoloured dress and Amanda looked looked lovely.

Amanda, if you read this, where did you get it please?

Hi Cornetto

I don't know who his Mom is but his aunt, I think the Christian name is right, is Camilla Parker-Bowles. Anyway the lady that won a million on "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire" and is on the other quiz show - is it "The Egg Heads"? And, ultimately, I believe, links to the Royal Family.

So you could say he is well connected."Say no more" nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Peter - that was a bit harsh I thought. Is he really that bad? (don't answer that one maybe!) Bad dress sense - yes! and not my favourite presenter but I still thrououghly enjoy the show whoever is on it! I get the feeling that even if his mum told him to dress better he is one of those people that always will look a bit funny anyway. Big Grin

Further to the Tom Parker Bowles threads my responses to these, for some obscure reason, are being censored. Heaven knows why but you probably won't get to read this one either. Anyway the new format of the message board is stupid. OK my view.

I have stated, often, that Tom Parker Bowles appalling lack of dress sense lets the programme down. His total lack of sartorial elegance and his presenting skills, which at best are poor, are only compounded when he tries to cook. Frankly it is a joke.

So the combination of the dynamic duo, when he is on with Matthew Fort, is a total put off and I will not be watching further shows when they are on.

Leave Tom alone...he might not be as well groomed as Matt at times but Tom is a hell of a lot better than any of these current presenters put together & that's what counts!

It's not about clothes they wear but the "personality" is what counts most in a presenting job....the rest follows...and Tom oozes personality & great attitude.

I would rather have Tom and his very casual look than both Amanda & Rachel who got their boobs on permanent display which is really very very off putting to say the least.

Besides Tom doesn't have to prove anything & if he's comfortable & feels relax with what he's wearing what does that matter to anyone??

Re Tom Parker Bowles
A change of job would be better, never mind his clothes
