Change to website

Is it my imagination, or are there a lot fewer people using the message boards since the change to the website? Why take off topics that were used a lot e.g. Rachel Allen's help line (even if she didn't answer the queries) and leave ones on that are hardly ever used - like Eating out and at home? The whole website seems to have lost some 'oomph' and I don't know where it's gone - please can we have some good happy chats and exchanges going on - and help each other.
Karen

I don't find the site anywhere near as interesting or encouraging. It is awkward to use, and hard to get around.
was much better as a site a) when there was good food live, and b) as UKTV food as were the programmes. There is nothing new that is interesting only market kitchen.. No good tv cooking on any channel at the moment, especially now Jamie's American trip has finished.

I don't think it is your imagination Karen and it is a shame, there were some very nice posters out there ready with a word of advice or encouragement. I think this message board is so tucked away and difficult to find, that only the most enthusiastic poster will seek it out. Perhaps if it was more evident on the homepage, people might have a look and contribute. Something new and stimulating on the channel might help stimulate a discussion too Wink Cheeky

Hi Karen

In the spirit of your suggestion to help each other I have just posted to Tom on Recipes re his request for help with Corned Beef.

Nice idea to try to re-charge this site with more input.

Let us see if it is catching?

It is a pity that this site has changed, it used to be quite good fun and useful too! I suspect that we have moved on or lost interest. The odd post that I make seems to get a smaller response which leads me to think that either I am becoming very boring or other are not interested in responding, or just not there anymore!

MK is not as stimulating as a cookery programme as GFL. Amanda and Mr Forte are nice, but no match for Jennie in the way they handle the guest cooks, some of which are brilliant and some of which are dire!

Well that's my view, hope you are all still awake!

I don't come here or post anywhere near as often as I used to. I find the new site slow and very cumbersome. And of course I miss Great Food Live and Jeni.

hi....your right on all counts. but i recon that the site and it's users changed dramatically once great food live was stolen from us, and replaced with that terrible show market kitchen.
As once upon a time the chefs would join in the chat too!!
It's all abit lame now whether it's the site or the channel.
Confused x
