At the end of The Rockies episode, there's a piece of instrumental music playing, can anyone tell me what it's called? Thanks.

hi guys, new to this forum. glad i found it. there are loads of songs that have been used on ray mears programmes over the years. I have been trying to find them myself. now, I have no idea which episodes they are from but two tracks I know of are :

Underworld - Banstyle/sappy's curry - was used years ago for end credits to an episode involving a jungle. might be the vietnam one, not sure tho.

hexstatic - Perfect Bird - again I am not sure what episode, but im pretty sure Ray was making fire and cooking a fish on a beach somewhere when I heard this.

Hope this post helps people. They are great tunes.

I too have tried to get info from BBC and raymears.com, and when it was around commercialbreaksandbeats.com. finding it really hard to get anything relevant. why is it so difficualt to find out good music! not the way things should be! if anyone knows of anymore new tunes please post asap!

loving this forum!

Hi all!
First of all I love rae mears' programs and love that they are on Eden.

For Lone -

that tune playing when Rae is paddling in his canoe in the costa rica episode is called ~

'Climbatise' by the Prodigy from the album 'Fat of the land', and is an absolute blinder.

I remember reading this thread ages ago having the same problem and it really annoyed me.I just downloaded this album and nearly went crazy when I discovered it was the elusive track.

Hope you can now groove to it anytime you want to.

Hey there,
Sorry to resserect an old post,
but I'm desperate to find this song, I have a clip
and very good quality clip with the track,
only problem is that its got Ray Mears making a fire during it, loads of background noise.

Anyway...

*its a soft track, with strings playing, and soft guitar melody, its got subtle hits of humming*

Also its from 'Ray Mears Extreme Survival Series.1 Episode 2 Arctic Survival' Sometime its refered to as Episode 0, don't know why! - thanks

Hi,

Ray Mears extreme survival, the episode about Vietnam.

Does anybody know the name of the track which gets played briefly when Ray begins to talk about the story Of Col George Day? It has a piano intro

Cheers

Mistchaser - I'll see what I can work out. My compilation is sadly not as good as I would have liked, but I'll have a sort through my Itunes and try to get a list for you.

As Lone said, not an easy task, but we'll crack it!

Hi,
Im really glad I found this thread. I wondered if any body knows what the opening credit theme tune for extreme survival was. I’m sure I heard it on another program on TV recently, but can’t remember what.

Hi Folks (again especially Lone)

If anyone could post an artist and track list I would be forever grateful - To be honest it doesn't even have to be episode / scene related for me; as I love all the music from all the shows.

I am quite dissapointed by the response I had from BBC and from Raymears.com - nobody even wanted to help, let alone point me in the right direction.

Anyway thanks in advance.

How about the African music in Country Tracks Ep. 5, (drinking straw from dead elder, omlette Kalahari-style, sip well, coke can fishing)?

LOL mistchaser, that is a huge task and ask! Big Grin

Especially if you want the tracks to collerate to specific episodes. Problem is (as with most TV progs, especially BBC ones) there is no official track listing, what info there is is down to fans recognising and sharing the music they hear.

If I get time, I'll sit down and try to list all the tracks I know have been featured in various Mears episodes, but no promises.

Hi all,

especially Lone, Puffin and Sparkster.

could anyone please help me out with a complete track list of all the music from Ray Mears series? It would be hugely appreciated. I can't find one anywhere. Thanks in advance.

Hi Lone - thanks for the reply - I downloaded that track as another of my Ray Mears compilations, so thanks for the heads up on that...

Another one this time - there's a track playing on the Extreme Series, Arizona Desert episode where he's constructing a 'Wickyup' (No comments on spelling please!). The track features a tune from a Bond Movie (I think its You Only Live Twice) which is splendid - any ideas anyone?

Thanks guys, Sparkster71 Big Grin

Hi

Does anyone know the mellow piano and strings piece played intermittently through episode 5 of "Wild Food", at the start when Ray is talking about Colonsay off Scotland and at the end of the episode where they are feeding the crew from a spit roasted boar?

Thanks
Steve

"" There is an opening track to the Ray Mears Extreme Survival - Jungle Survival when Ray is paddling along a river in Costa Rica. I can't describe or hum it, but it's the very opening track. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would be very appreciative.

Cheers! ""

=======================
I don't think it's the very first track on the episode, but you might wanna check out DJ Shadow - Giving Up The Ghost, as it's featured near the start of the episode (and whilst Ray is paddling I believe).

Hi all
In Ray Mears Bushcraft, when he visits Sweden, there's a piece of music playing when he returns to Sweden and travels by dog sled, he states something similar to "The land is more accessible either by snow mobile or dog sled, something I've always wanted to try".
It sounds like Moby but I honestly have no idea.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

hey guys - can anyone tell me the name of the opera track that's playing when he's in the alps teaching us all about mountain survuval? i think it's Extreme Survival: s2e5 if that helps at all. It was part of a techno track I used to listen to years ago and it brought back some amazing memories.

thanks in advance Smile
