About UKTV

UKTV is a major industry player and one of the most important and successful multi-channel providers in the UK. Formed in 1997, it is an independent commercial joint venture, between Virgin Media and BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC.

Attracting 27 million viewers each month, the network consists of nine distinctive and innovative TV channels – UKTV Gold, UKTV History, UKTV Style, Dave, UKTV Drama, UKTV Documentary, UKTV Food, UKTV People and UKTV Gardens – offering a broad range of quality programming across entertainment, lifestyle and factual programming.

UKTV currently operates 19 broadcast streams when multiplexes (+1s) and broadband are taken into account, and a highly successful website. The success of UKTV is based on its programming including award-winning shows from the BBC and an increasing number of original commissions and acquisitions.

The network’s unique relationship with the BBC gives it a ‘first look’ at its programmes for secondary broadcast in the UK. The network is dedicated to providing a quality channel platform environment for the best content producers, including some of the UK’s top independent programme makers.


How to get UKTV

UKTV Gold
Dedicated to celebrating the best in comedy and entertainment, including much loved classics such as Only Fools and Horses and the Vicar Of Dibley, UKTV Gold is UKTV's most popular digital channel. It also shows off some fantastic original productions, such as Wogan: Now And Then and Danny Baker's Sitcom Showdown. It also gave viewers the multi-channel premiere of US smash hit Prison Break.

UKTV Gardens
The UK's only specialist gardening channel, UKTV Gardens brings more than 20 years of gardening experience to the nation's millions of green-fingered enthusiasts, from the hardcore, all-weather gardeners through to those with a budding interest in things horticultural. Providing expert advice and inspiration throughout the year, the channel showcases some of the best gardening programmes ever made, fronted by the biggest names in the business, from Titchmarsh and De Thame to Don and Dimmock.

Dave

UKTV Drama
