LAST episode,i hope not.
In 50 years time I'll be searching through my back cupboard to find my dusty old dvd player and Red Dwarf DVDs, so that i can teach the kids of the future what real comedy is. I did miss the crowd laughter, and Holly though.
Red Dwarf was awesome and will always be awesome. It was a bit different having a new episode "out of the blue" in a way but I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope there will be another one.. Pleeaase be another one. Fingers crossed. ;)
Also, loved this interview, well constructed unlike some I've seen. *rolls eyes at some random interviews I've seen*
I loved the new episodes they were original and funny and it seemed like yesterday that we were all watching Red Dwarf not 10 years ago.I think that there is more mileage in The Dwarf yet.The team have still got it and the chemistry was still there for all to see.Well done to Dave for bringing it back! Awesome!!
I have been a Red Dwarf fan since it started and I thought the specials were great. I think they would have benefitted from a little "audience participation" - albeit canned laughter. I think that's what let the last couple of series down a bit. It made a nice change to see the Cat being more cat-like again! And I must admit I do get annoyed when I see Rimmer doing technical stuff - if he is capable of that then how come he keeps failing his exams!!
Otherwise it was excellent. Welcome back RD!

man you offend red dwarf. red dwarf can have what they want as long as it's got the cast and the sci-fi red dwarf action then it's a top of the charts program.cgi only makes the graphics better and more realistic but yeah i can see what you mean by it not being original red dwarf but it's in the future when they get back to earth lol!
what do you mean CGI is not needed in the Dwarf?! do you know how much it costs to finance a show like this without the use of CGI? Its because of the cost that they had to do that in the first place. Get with the times. Fantastic comeback episodes, the canned laughter i'll agree would have added a more original feel to it. aside from that though, awesome work guys. A new series is a must!!!! Bollocks to all the naysayers. watch 2 pints instead, theres no CGI in that.
Good new episodes, however i would have liked them to keep the crowd laughing in because that was a classic element to the old shows. Nevertheless i would love to see a new series possibly linking back in with the end of series eight.
I thought the new series was alright, i didnt really like the idea about them finding out about the show and trya find the makers of it, i thought that kinda took the whole red dwarf vibe away compared to the old series, i preffered the old series myself and like drelfie commented on i thought it wasnt really the same without the crowds laughter, myself i thought the crowds laughter was a real big part to red dwarf, it kinda seemed dead without them, overall though the new series was alright

i think they should of started of were they left with the mirror world and wat happend next would of made the story alot easier to follow and i think they should keep the laughs of the crowd in the background it makes it feel more like a red dwarf show and ive watched the show from when it very first started but i think it is a very a good effort for a come back apart from a couple of draw backs (a)no laughs in the backand (b)no laughs in the background lol
I love the new Red Dwarf episodes. Good to see the guys back. No other TV programme is near it. Thanks Dave. Keep the good work up. I cannot get enough of the characters and the jokes are thick and fast. Chris Barrie and Danny have still got it.

Sorry, but this was bad on all fronts. It was badly made and lacked flow and a decent plot. I would of been better if Lister was more keen to find Kristine and centre around that rather than finding the makers of Dwarf etc. I am a huge fan, but will have to say this is the worst comeback and only Eldorado is worse.
During the orginal show, The Cat, played such a hyper character and seeing him in the new show, made it feel doll. He seemed lazy in his acting, also looking alot older (10years will do that), just made his first role in the new Red Dwarf just odd.
The guy who paid to be the CGI artist, well that's alittle funny in my opinion, seeing as not many people were impressed with it. CGI isn't all that for special effects, they could of kept it basic and got a better review for those parts.

OMG Love red dwarf... please fund a new series i have watched dave every day since its rebrand and i will make sure to watch it even more if there's another RD series on!!! Thanks for keeping it alive and also making this special ;)
I think it's great to see the lads back, doing what (I think) they do best, but I was slightly let down by the 1st part. There seemed to be times where the chemistry really didn't seem to be there, but overall, I liked it. It was great and I want to see how the 2nd part goes.
awsome man i wish they would do a whole other series of red dwarf....like how they live on earth and what they get up to. if aliens will attack the earth and put loads of action in red dwarf....well that's what i think....bring red dwarf back for another or a couple of series please!!!

Fantastic new episode! Well done to all involved. Its good to see such a classic as Red Dwarf BACK up to top form. This is Red Dwarf as I remember it! Keep it up and please, somebody (I'm looking at you DAVE) support and fund season 9 ( sorry 10) !!
I agree this is one of the best Red Dwarf episodes ever. I dont care what the haters are saying about it all but I love Red Dwarf and think this is an up to date addition to the long line of episodes and it worked for me. Thanks to all that were involved!
I too hope that these videos are included in the DVD extras??
(Please make a new series in the same style as the new episode!)
Over here in Canada I sit....eagerly awaiting the new three part episodes. Love Dwarf! Will I be able to view the three parts online? Because if I have to wait for Canadian (joke) TV to ever show them I'll be a very old man. We get mostly US programs on our TV here which totally lack any true value or content worthy of bothering with. It's mostly for the brainless couch potatoes that need to be spoon few their entertainment. So what ya think....can I see the new Dwarf here on this site or what?

Just over 24 hours now for the TV premier :@ Also hope this will be on the dvd released in June. Looking forward to the Red Dwarf Convention known as Dimension Jump in Birmingham early October. It's been a long tme coming but it's going to be well worth the wait based on what we've seen so far.
These vids have been great DAVE, I really hope that if you're planning a DVD they'll be included as extras :)
