The Swift elevated Suzuki from the nether regions to the supermini summit, and now the new Sport cements its spot. The revvy 1.6-litre engine creates a hot hatch that ducks under the yob radar.
Strengths: With the engine on the boil, the involving chassis keeps you on your toes. Just the job to invigorate the morning commute. At £12k your job doesn't need to be with an international finance house either.
Weaknesses: Doesn't exactly sip petrol and the interior is nothing like as feelgood as, say, a similarly priced Mini's.
