New version of Land Rover's workhorse looks identical, but is powered by a new (Transit) engine, and there's decent heating and ventilation for the first time.

Strengths: It's a Defender. For some, that's enough. Posh new engine allows for proper motorway speeds, and even some audible conversation at those speeds. Crushes most geography you can throw at it.

Weaknesses: Where to start? Crude, expensive, uncomfortable, poorly equipped (no airbags). EU nixed side-on seats, so SW seats only seven now.
