Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle
It’s not often we at Dave get so excited we think we might explode, but the idea of Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle making its debut on the channel is enough to make the veins in our temples bulge and our internal organs spontaneously combust.
At one point, Stewart was part of the celebrated double act Lee and Herring, but for a decade he’s been concentrating on his first love – superior and much celebrated stand-up comedy.
And it’s this format that Stewart uses as a platform for his first television series in a decade, providing minute after minute of scathingly brilliant stand-up and sketches.
Each sublime episode is based on a theme (Toilet Books, Television, Political Correctness, Global Financial Crisis, Comedy and Religion) and subjects that incur his ire include Sir David Attenborough, Only Fools And Horses, Dan Brown, and Woolworths.
But it doesn’t end there. Behind the camera, Simon Munnery and Peter Serafinowicz appear in some of the sketches, Armando Iannucci produces and the elusive genius Chris Morris script-edits.
Stewart, it’s good to have you back.
When is it on?

Only a Sun reader could mistake this dross for intelligent comedy. Probably laughs at farting noises too. Here's to hoping this particular vehicle runs off the road. Under a train.

Stewart Lee for king!! If you don't like his comedy, I pity you. The man delivers top-knotch, incisive, intelligent comedy with a heavy dose of social comment. The fact that he despises the fat, talentless oaf Chris Moyles is good enough for me. :-)

I've given this two chances and fail to see why it's classed as comedy. I think I'm meant to have laughed but didn't. If he's trying to shock or offend he's failing at that too. It's just painfully unfunny. Looking straight into the lens doesn't make me feel intimidated just slightly sorry for him.
