In James May’s Big Ideas, the big man is on a different kind of mission – to travel the globe and search for the latest, most promising and downright bizarre pieces of new technologies that will make the world a better place.
James May has had plenty of big ideas during his stint as co-presenter of Top Gear, but they have mostly revolved around improving the chassis of a Fiat Panda.
In James May’s Big Ideas, the big man is on a different kind of mission - to travel the globe and search for the latest, most promising and downright bizarre pieces of new technologies that will make the world a better place.
In the opening episode, James explores better and bolder means of transport, including a flying machine capable of skimming above sea and ice at high speeds, a rocket pack and the world’s smallest helicopter.
Then it’s off to take a look at robots, and then future technologies, which includes a look at a solar power station in Spain and a group of scientists who make petrol out of thin air.
