Craig Charles

Dave Lister is a world-weary slob whose only ambition was to retire to Fiji with his beloved Kristine Kochanski. But then every human being in the universe died, which sort of put a spanner in the works. Put into stasis as punishment for bringing a cat onto the ship, Lister was left unscathed when a lethal radiation leak wiped out the entire crew. Unfortunately, the fallout meant he couldn’t emerge from stasis for millions of years - by which point humanity was history. Still, you’ve got to laugh eh?

The man behind the dreadlocked mullet (or, more correctly, in front of it), is Craig Charles - who used to be a performance poet. He was a bit of a poetry prodigy actually, winning a major poetry prize aged just 12 (and it wasn’t a children’s’ competition either!). Craig’s since been in everything from EastEnders to Corrie, as well as the old BBC 2 show Cyberzone, which tried to prove that computer games are a spectator sport. It failed.
