Series 2 Episode 12: Red Dwarf X special with Danny John-Jules

Posted by Ben Shires on 14 Sep 12 in Red Dwarf X

The man behind flamboyant feline Cat joins us on our second Red Dwarf X special and we catch up with outspoken Aussie stand-up Jim Jefferies...

We are but specks of dust hurtling through the cosmos. As famed sci-fi scribbler Arthur C. Clarke once put it, “Two possibilities exist: Either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.” Fortunately for us at the Dave Weekly however, the cast of the new series of Red Dwarf X are here to remind us that whatever else is out there, they’re unlikely to be as funny or as obsessed by vindaloo as the characters we’ve already been gifted.

Joining us in the second of our Red Dwarf X specials is Danny John-Jules, who not only plays the Cat on screen, but is a pretty cool customer off it too. Even his double-barreled initials are cool, like a disc jockey but with extra emphasis. Add to this the fact that ever since the Internet basically became a support group for cat lovers the world over he’s seen his popularity rise exponentially, and it’s no exaggeration to say that within the next decade we’ll all be pledging allegiance to a new leader and wearing specially commissioned flea collars. Or Danny John-Jewellery if you will...

Also feline fine this week was Jim Jefferies who dropped in for some man chat about his life and newfound celebrity. I love Jim Jeffries like I love a good pâté - coarse and yet smooth at the same time. And great on a cracker.

‘Til next week, toodles doodles x

You know... Whenever I'm not sure about the meaning of something - especially something everybody else seems to know - I use this thing called "The Internet" to look it up.
