Alan Cumming in brief

The actor, writer, producer, director and bisexual rights campaigner Alan Cumming, has made his mark internationally despite being born in a remote Scottish Highland community.

First coming to significant attention for his appearance of Minnie Driver's smug suitor in 1995's Circle of Friends, Cumming went on to also have memorable parts in Eyes Wide Shut, Emma, Spy Kids the movie and GoldenEye. On British soil Cumming is probably most recognisable in Britain for his part in popular camp sitcom The High Life.

Also an acclaimed stage actor, Cumming won a Tony for his performance in the 1998 Broadway revival of Cabaret.

Writing credits include Hollywood film, The Anniversary Party and novel Tommy's Tale.
