Neil Oliver

Scottish archaeologist, historian, author and broadcaster, Neil Oliver is also known for his lovely long dark locks.

Finding that archaeology wasn't the most financially satisfying of careers he moved into journalism in the mid-1990s. Writing for various nationals and specialising in archaeological news.

Making his television debut in 2002 with BBC two's Two Men in a Trench, a series which bought to life the bloody battles fought on British soil hundreds of years ago.

Neil's best recognised for appearing on Coast, the popular documentary series capturing Britain's entire coastline. First appearing as the archaeological and social history expert, he then went on to replace Nicholas Crane as the main presenter for the next two series.

Since finishing Coast, he's gone on to appear on The Face of Britain and Scotland's History: The Top Ten.
