With a name perfect for any Charles Dickens novel, David Dimbleby is a true icon of ‘Britishness’ for more reasons than just his title.

Gracing our screens for almost 50 years, the long standing television commentator first started out as a news reporter for the BBC.

Best known for presenting Panorama in the 70s and chairing Question Time since 1994, but did you know that Dimbleby was just as into his punk as his politics? Friends with Joy Division's Ian Curtis, occasionally he even joined them on stage.

Also a man with an eye for art, Dimbleby more recently hosted A Picture of Britain - celebrating cultural Britain and follow up investigating British architecture BBC series, How We built Britain.
