Big Grin Excellent - About time Howard's Way re-surfaced on UKTV. Can't wait to relive that 80's era where shoulder pads and fluffed up hair were 'in'.

Angry Due to the strange scheduling I missed the last few episodes of this wonderful series..........Please UKtv Drama, repeat the series 6 again. Falling audience figures........why does this Howard's Way have so much following and loyalty? I would've thought by the amount of interest shown in this column you have one of the best viewed shows! I bet there would not be one complaint if you showed the whole programme series again from the start, series 1, episode 1! If you do bow to your audience requests (who after all watch the advertising slots that generate your revenue), and serve them with a grown up schedule, organised by someone that understands numerical sequences, you might just retain some loyalty. For crying out loud show the programmes again at the same 0600Hr slot every day until this column dies out in total satisfaction. If you need someone who can read the series/episode labels on your master tapes/disks let me know, I could go a long way to pleasing your audience with a planned, predictable and repeatable programme schedule that every one could look forward to. 0600 every day from series 1/episode 1 through to the last episode of the last series.........it cant be so hard to do, can it? Roll Eyes Due to your lack of planning and programme promotion I missed the first ever episode and many of the final episodes.........I would have been sacked if I had cocked up like your programmer Develish You could try the obvious and use this column to inform us all on your next move! The show is obviously so popular that you must show it all again........if you can't see that, your advertisers should remind you which is one of the most popular programmes you have ever shown.

So that's it? Howards Way once again disappears from our screens. Hang your heads in shame UKTV Drama. How to ruin a classic BBC TV series, episodes out of sequence, series out of sequence, programming at 3.05am/4.00am/5.05am. Appalling. Oh well, at least we have we have some genuine drama programmes to look forward to instead over the winter -Keeping Up Appearances, Last of The Summer Wine..................how the nights will fly by...what new drama programmes have you got lined up for the Spring.......Only Fools & Horses, Little Britain??? A shambles...........

Well after getting to see episode 11 yesterday we got to see episode 13 today the last one! I realised one was missing towards the end and after Lynne talked about being pregnant as if we already knew eh?????? If I was to leave out stops in my job as a train guard I would soon be punished......'sorry we arn't stopping here today even though we are supposed to .. you have to go to the next station we are missing yours out!' How soon would it be before I got the sack if I carried out my job in such a way? Oh by the way it wasn't scheduled to be shown in the TV mag either so it was only because I have been setting my recorder to tape daily fronm 5am till 6am that I caught it!

This is unbelievable!!! UKTV Drama finally decides to show series 6 again after series 3 finished, naturally. I mean, series 4 would just be too logical wouldn't it? Last time episodes 10,11,12 and 13 of series 6 were missed out, so after coping with the initial shock of returning to those missing series 6 episodes earlier this week (pressure from the message boards by any chance?), I sat down and thought here we go, great .......................aahhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Episode 11! For goodness sake, you could train an ape to do this!! I give up!! Shouldn't really be surprised really I suppose. These are the people that give us Last of the Summer Wine on a DRAMA channel!! I rest my case........

I don't see the argument about poor viewing figures meaning that you have to take it off 4 episodes from the end of 6 series it's a crazy logic...unless you have started from an earlier series hoping we will all tune in to eventually see the last 4 sometime down the road because that is what I am having to do...set the recorder to tape every morning wasting my electricity and wearing out the machine in the hope that at some point I will eventually see the last 4 episodes...is this fair on your loyal viewers?

Who's decision is it to put out DVD's? it would be most unfair if they did not put out series 4, 5 & 6 after releasing the first three. You can still get DVD's of loads of old TV serials most of which weren't nearly as popular as Howard's Way, I, and lots of others judging by this forum will be most put out if we can't buy the rest to finish off the series. I check Amazon regularly to see if they are out yet but no luck. I love Howard's way and so do my two daughters. Here's hoping.

Finally a voice from UKTV Drama speaks! Strange that, poor viewing figures with a 3.05am/3.25am/6am screening time.......mmm. A series that attracted nearly 12 million viewers per episode when it was shown by the BBC originally and guess what? It wasn't at 3.05am/3.25am/6am. Do you see the connection guys?

I wonder how many people would watch Coronation St and Eastenders if these were on TV before the milkman arrives?

Simon, which series do your comments refer to?
Series 1, 2 and 3 are not really an issue as they are all available on DVD. My enquiry is regarding series 6 which UKTV pulled with only 4 episodes left to run. Poor viewing figures or not at least you had some loyal viewers as this message board proves. I wonder just how many viewers they will be able to hang on to in light of recent events. Frown

Hi Simon

Cry Oh what a pity, perhaps if it had been scheduled at a later time in the morning more of us could have watched it. Tell me does this effect the production of the rest of the series on DVD? (4, 5 & 6)

Wed 19 Sep 2007, 4.23PM

Simon C - UKTV

Hi All

Unfortunately UKTV Drama had to take the series out of the schedule because of poor viewing figures.

Confused Series 3 episode 8??? Confused, bewildered, disorientated & upset thats me! Disorganised, incoherent, obscure & nonplussed thats UKTV! I give up, just bring series 4, 5 & 6 out on DVD PLEASE and put us all out of our misery.

Wed 19 Sep 2007, 8.58AM

ClassicTelly

Here we go again. Series 3 episode 8 this morning. Since Sunday we have had episodes 1,5,6 and 8 in that order Surely UKTV Drama could hire someone with half a brain cell to screen this series in the correct order? It really can't be that difficult surely? What next? Start from the end and work backwards? What a shame to spoil a fine BBC series (note to UKTV Drama, series means a collection of episodes in order) for us all. Poor effort guys.

It was fantastic seeing her in Casualty all these years later sexy legs. I wish some of the other actors in HW were on TV today, although of course some of them are no longer with us!

Do not believe anyone cares or reads them. I send one re. the sudden pull by programmers of the final series before the last four episodes where shown - will they ever? Totally ignored. Rude and totally uncaring. Tomorrow it looks like maybe one of the last four are being shown at about 5 a.m.??? Not sure. Worth a look.
Programmers are paid a lot of money for what they do - but they obviously do not know what they are doing by taking the series off and then putting it on on odd days with different series etc.
It drives you crazy and gives you no reason to watch UK Drama or any of the other Sky channels. No confidence in them at all . Maybe we should all cancel subscriptions etc. but that would probably make no difference. We are just little cogs in enomous money-making scams.
Enough! Back to the champers and hope it all rectifies. Angry

First the good news - I finally found one of my all time fave TV programmes - Howards Way! Series 3 from the beginning - YES!! Watching it makes it feel like the 80's all over again and not a reality TV programme in sight - those were the days of proper telly!. Makes you feel sad about the Big Brotheresque world we live in today. Now the bad news, Sunday 16 early am - Series 3 Episode 1 - fantastic. Monday 17 early am Series Episode 2? Don't be silly, Episode 5 of course - eh? Am I missing something UKTV Drama??? I think BBC1 are missing a trick here. They would get great viewing audiences with a complete re-run of HW!! After all they seem to repeat The Good Life constantly. Or simply release ALL 6 series on DVD? So frustrating!!

Hey did anybody see Susan Gilmore (aka Avril Rolfe) on Casualty last night and also last Saturday? She only had a small part but I instantly recognised her voice. Considering Howards' Way finished back in 1990, she looked pretty good I have to say. Ahhh it got me thinking about Howards' Way again - and how rotten UKTV Drama are for taking it off air just a few episodes before the final one. Honestly UKTV Drama you've got a lot to answer for!

Smile I am way behind many of you folks however, I have now watched all of the first 3 series of HW on DVD. Does anyone know if or when 4, 5, & 6 are coming out? It seems that I am a little too late for watching them on TV, although from your comments I would have been very frustrated! Come on UKTV whats happening? Frown

PS. Obviously I meant to say series 4, 5 & 6 not episodes - see what being deprived of my morning dose of Howard's Way is doing to me!! Will be most upset if these are not put out on DVD, you can't buy half a set of a serial - or can you?? Who puts these out as I can't see who to contact on the DVD boxes.

I am thinking of moving to Hamble and I also hear shoulder pads are coming back.
