Big Grin Excellent - About time Howard's Way re-surfaced on UKTV. Can't wait to relive that 80's era where shoulder pads and fluffed up hair were 'in'.

I'm gutted as well claire_flower. I missed it because i had no idea there was any such programme on telly.
It should be on one of the main channels then is would have been advertised more and we would have got to hear about it then. Angry

On a much happier note only 4 days to go until the release of series 5. I'm watching series 4 again to build up the excitement. Can't wait Big Grin

There was a programme on a few weeks ago on Cult Sunday TV one of which was 'Howard's Way'. It had interviews with all the stars and showed bits of the ones that are sadly no longer with us, it was great to see them again and the areas of filming, they all sais what a great time they had filming. Apparently the budget for the first series or so was million pounds, money unheard of in those days - well worth every penny or what!

It would be brilliant to have a fan club, there would be a HUGE following if the amount of postings on this message board is anything to go by. Big Grin

I hope there is some commentary on the series 5 DVD like there was on series 1 and 2, it would be good to know what these people are up to now and maybe some recent photos so we can see how much the people have changed. Only 16 days to go for series 5, surely i'm not the only one thats counting the days down. Cheeky Wink

I always that being superfan like a trekkie was sad but not in this case.We must all rise up and start stalking kate and jan to attend conventions or blackmail them with pictures of them without theie make-up on!

There must be some shoulder padded 80's wizz kid out there who has the mind to set up a fan site. I would but too much hair spray in the 80s turned me into airhead!
I'm starting to feel very OLD.

I gave up on UKTVDRAMA long ago. Judging by all the post/messages here revealing how they transmit episodes out of synch , stop halfway through , start halfway through and then cancel without providing any explaination , I find it totally unrealistic to rely on them to properly cater for my entertainment. That's why I'm relying on the DVD releases.

Well would you believe it........one episode scheduled by SKY next Tuesday 6th at 0500Hrs.........no evidence of any other episodes.........just what are UKtv playing at? I wish they would repeat the first episodes of series 1 ( to make up for starting the series without telling anyone (they could at least let this loyal band of viewers know in this column)). Oh and perhaps complete series 6 instead of mixing it up and missing episodes. One day maybe! Frown

Although being the very proud owner of series 1 to 4 and series 5 booked and paid for i would still sit down and watch the episodes if they were to run on the television. Love it, bring back the 80's. Big Grin

Although series 5 has not yet landed on my door step i'm searching about to find a release date for series 6, panicking its going to be a long wait like it was between series 3 and 4. Frown Eek

Big Grin Whilst enjoying all your exchanges and anticipation of DVD releases, isn't it about time UKtv started showing their most popular series again. No other show has this much comment attached....you would think the advertising sponsors would compel UKtv to show the full series in their correct order. I don't think many viewers would object to another attempt at getting the show out again............and even again! Confused

Not long to go now , fellow "Howardites"!! (I don't know if that sounds right)
Only three weeks to Series 5!!

Disaster to even think about it returning without all the best loved characers, it would be just too sad. I will never get bored with watching any of the orginal episodes and have loved it from it's first airing.

They just do not make drama like that any more, more's the pity!

Oh! the joy of seeing all those DVD's stting on my bookcase waiting to be devoured! I would love to do a tour of Hamble country.

Sadly not, Connertje. Not that I have found anyway.

I'm afraid I am stuck in the 80's and noting has come close to Howard's Way since.

Anyone think that if they ever decided to reunite it 20 years on it would be good, or a disaster like This Life? Obviously some of the best characters/ actors are dead now i.e Charles Frere, Tom, Rolf etc.

We are in need of a fan club. We also need to attend conventions like Star Trek!

Where's my post about the Howard's house gone??

Hi claire_flower,
Its good to be able to discuss a programme everyone enjoys.
When i get the time to go to Burlesdon i'll keep a look out for the Howards House as well.
How about the 'Leisurecruise' building. It looks to be on a main road of some kind, any ideas about this one.

Series 5 has been ordered from Woolworths can't wait for May!!! Tongue

Hi Major Apple

I visited Hampshire last summer and went to Burlesdon also.

I went to the pub, and saw the houses of Polly, Jack, Avril's first cottage, and the Howard's!

It took a while, but if I remember correctly you walk up the hill and its one of the last houses before you leave the village. I've tried to attach a photo but it won't let me! It looks virtualy the same although there is a hideous upstairs extension to the right of the front door. Eek

It's great to be able to share my love of Howard's Way. I feel like a minority!

Can't wait for Series 5 to drop on my doorstep.

You're in for an absolute killer wall5 if you've never seen series 5. You'll going to enjoy it!!

The woman on the cover is the well known character actress Kate O'Mara who plays "Laura Wilde" , business nemesis of "Ken Masters"

Second link for Barracuda of Tarrant is no longer working (sold ?) don't know.

Sailorboy. My wife and I went down to the Hamble yesterday for lunch in the Jolly Sailor but I don't think there would be much call for tours these days. The food I must say was excellent but not cheap (as you would expect). The easiest place to park is in Lands End Road in Bursledon (Hamble) and walk down the steps to the pub which is easily found although I would avoid a warm summer night as it is sure to be heaving !. From here you can walk infront of the pub past Jacks cottage and along a path past the Elephant (Mermaid) boatyard.

At the top of Lands End Road on the junction with Station Hill (on the green) you will find the Urquart (sp ?) house which is easilly recognisable by the round windows. From here you can walk on round to Church Lane where you'll find the church Lynn got married in (and Mark Foster got buried !) you'll also pass the station where Polly regularly meets people "off the train".

Afternoon we went to Hamble-Le-Rice where, right on the waterfront, was Leos' windsurf shack and the yaught club.

The only place we were looking for but couldn't find was the Howards house, perhaps it was not in the area we were looking so if anyone has any info I would be interested to find out where it is.

Just checked out the link from the above posting, Barracuda of Tarrant still looks an excellent yacht, makes you want to sell the house and buy it for yourself. If only i had the money..... Cry
