Thanks Cathy - I just could not get that last bit! Let's hope there is some resolution to this relationship in Series 4 - except, somehow, I doubt it!

hope this helps

J. Are you alright?

M. I fear Eddie died for nothing

J. He had a change of heart, he died heroically

M. That’s what I keep trying to convince myself of.

J. well nothing so important can ever come too late

M. I hope not. (Julia turns away crying)…. I’m sorry did I say something wrong

J. No William I’m just glad you’re here

Thanks. Now can you please help me with the bit at the end of The Prince and the Rebel when J says 'Nothing so important can ever ..................' W says I hope not and then I'm sorry did I say something wrong? I listen carefully each time I see this but I just cannot get what she says here.

Thanks Patricia, I am also English but found Julia's words were just mumbled and couldn't work out what she was saying. It has taken me many viewings to work it out and I think I agree with your version - well done.

I, too, despite being English, found this difficult but think I've got it now after a few views! I still can't catch the first thing that Julia says, but the following goes something like this:

W: I am very happy where I am
J: Ok, that isn't what I mean
W: Oh, yes - Mrs Kitchen doesn't usually allow visitors
J: No, no, I was talking about precautions
W: Precautions?
J: Yes, do you have anything?
W: Oh, you mean
J: Yes, prophylactics
W: Well, I didn't think I would be needing any
J: Yes, William, we really really do
W: How very modern of you
J: There will be other chances but tonight saner heads
must prevail
W: For tonight

Hope that helps.

much of what they say is vague, a few words here and there with lots of laughter

just before they kiss william says that he is disappointed because he hasn't seen a green fairy.

julia says 'disappointed? we can't have that' then they kiss

when they are on the ground kissing julia says something about moving on, william says mrs kitchen doesn't allow visitors then they have a discusssion about using protection (prophylaxis) before calling a halt to the kissing

hope this helps, i can get the exact wording when i watch it again if you want it

liza has been mentioned a few times in series one and he is obviously still grieving for her, in that day married women didn't work, once married a woman had to give up work and i'm not sure julia is ready for that just yet. how times have changed!!

i liked sarah too, i could see her with william

I think that Liza is the love of his life, but that is slowly realizing that there is room in his life for another woman, be it Julia or Enid (I would prefer Enid, I think she is a much better fit than Julia, or even Sarah from series 1.

PatriciaF13410

I'm not sure about that. Liza has not been mentioned to my knowledge for about 20+ episodes? Also, we cannot put our present culture of men not working with women on to the 19th century - perhaps it was different then, especially as it must have been extremely unusual to have a woman pathologist. I think Julia is the love of William's life and not Liza .. and I think this has slowly but surely evolved through series 2, and that it took Enid to come on the scene to really make them realise. Oh well, just a storyline - but a mesmerising one nevertheless!

Just my thoughts. I could be totally wrong, but will know that in a week or so??

i agree, tis show is getting better and better, i think julia is aware that william has a real problem over the abortion and maybe believes that she doesn't have a chance with him compared to a woman with a child plus she'd have to give up her job once she married and i'm not convinced she's ready to do that yet.

however, i think william is rethinking things with both women. the comment at the end of 'shall we ask the maiden?' was telling, i thought. we know he was and still is deeply in love with Liza and maybe he wonders if he could find that again with any woman.

just my 2 pence worth anyhow

I just love this series and how all the characters have developed throughout 24 episodes. The separate story episodes are excellent and the love interest throughout are mesmerising – the last two, I hope, will sort out the ‘love triangle’ – in Julia and William’s favour of course! How Julia has remained so composed with William’s interest in Enid beats me. Helene Joy’s acting is just perfect. Having read about the problems that Shaftesbury has experienced losing their studio lot and so on, I wonder if there will be a third series. Pity if not as it really is a great programme and worth
City TV fighting for. It’s a shame it’s not more widely shown, but well done Alibi for picking it up.

An absolutly swell episode and to top it off Will looks like he's thinking about Julia once again.
I love this series and the characterisations, and we dropped into Victorian jewish community this week...the make-up for the guy who was beaten up was brilliant.

Here's hoping for a 3rd series.

I love this programme and how the characters have devloped over series 1 and 2. Now we are on an emotional roller-coaster, and I can't help but hope that Julia wins out in the end - as William said, he could not love anyone else as he loves her. Fantastic storyline! From the ending of about episode 3 (dinosaurs) when William looks into his future, it can only have been Julia who emerged from the tent, so I am sure she does. Enid is not the one for him, despite the cute little son. Without the chemistry between William and Julia, the series would not be as good as it is

i agree, every time i think it's as good as it's going to get, it gets better. loved the morgue scene and the interaction between brackenreid, george and higgins in the absence of william.

i think william and enid are good for each other, i was beginning to warm to julia but now i've changed my mind

You don't think the show could get any better but it does with each new episode.

I loved the introduction of Enid and her son into the mix, and wiliam seems to connect with her son...how sweet.

This week lets George fly his wings so as to say and play detective with William out of action...great interactions between him and Higgins..and the morgue scene totally blew my socks off Big Grin

Now is Julia regretting what she said to William with more female competion on the scene.

Loved the pjs by the way.

at one point he says he's disappointed at the lack of green fairies and she says she doesn't want him to be disppointed, or something like that just before they kiss, was that the part you meant or when they are kissing and she suggests protection?

Can anyone tell tell me what Julia says during the 'experiment' in the Green Muse - I have listened many times and cannot work out what she says as she mumbbles the words - it's driving me mad?

this series is getting better and better, such difficult issue to handle and a roller coaster of emotions

An emotional episode. The actors did brilliantly, given the taboo of Victorian society.

Well I'm still reeling from the after effects of it all...very thought provoking.

Koodoos to them all...actors, the writing and production team too. Can you not tell I loved it.

Ah...love is in the air for William. Loved how Will gave Julia a good morning kiss after the so said `experiment`
Her expression was priceless...so sweet of Will. The four characters are slowly developing well, now we need some of George's history.

I love this series as now and again they link in characters from the original books...with Tuesday's episode being Etta from the first book. Will definitly still holds a soft spot for her, and likewise proven by the peck on his cheek.Yep what woman couldn't resist Will's charms...and eyesWink

This 2nd series like the 1st seems is certainly a winner as it progresses.

I can't believe we've just seen episode four, truly wonderful...the series is starting to take off.

Brackenreid at his wonderful best;even suggesting to Will he and julia to get out more.Julia's sister added more to this episode, and now I firmly believe julia and Will,to eventually become an item.

Tell the guys in Canada Alibi, I love this series.

Loved this episode. So full of interest. I like the who done it theme to the episode...interesting for the viewer.
Love this show as they bring in all the different gadgets...this week it was the x-ray. I wonder what next week will be?

And as Iden says...a twist at the end. Loved how you had Yannick in a moustache in that final scene...just like William in the books...loved the smirk as he looked into his future Smile

An absolutly brilliant start...well worth the wait over the last few months.

And Alibi thankyou so very much for the new look of the site.

We've got interviews, episode guide, pics and even the forensics. I just love it I gotta applaud you for the time and effort you must have put into it

I hope you put some of the interviews onto season 2 dvd boxset when it is eventually released...I only hope... Wink
