Dalziel and Pascoe is a great programme and always has been- I agree with other fans of the show that is not as good without David Royle- his character of Wield was so important and they were a brilliant threesome- I really miss him. It would'nt be so bad if we could see him in something else- haven't heard anything about him for a long time. I think he is in a film called Operation Stormbreaker 2006- I've yet to check that out. He also does narrating and voiceovers for advertising, not much good if you want to see him!I'm really surprised he is not on tv more- I think he's great.

Many many thanks DRAMA for showing D & P every night - fantastic, and for showing the earlier ones, they were definately better, but would it be possible for you to start showing them from the beginning, I would be forever in your debt

I totally agree and there's nothing wrong in taping them to watch again - I'm doing the same! We are nearly up to Series 8 here which is great as I haven't seen this one.
Yes, Wieldy is sorely missed. It's still really good and I wouldn't miss it for the world but D&P need Wieldy
I wonder why David Royle left? I think he just disappears at the end of Series 8 and is never mentioned again? I have to wait for Series 9 but that's what I have gathered off the internet!
I wish they would bring him back... He could come back as a DI as well and be all part of a new investigation team. Andy could head it up with Peter and Wieldy as his main men! See writers it's not difficult at all!

You're someone after my own heart. D & P are the best ever and it's brilliant that it's being shown every night on DRAMA at the mo. I even video the shows in case it gets taken off (how sad am I, but I don't care)
I think the early ones are better, especially with David Royle, such a shame he left. Maybe we should campaign to bring him back.
