When UK Drama first brought in a daytime schedule and then went 24/7, they showed some Shoestring.

Please show Shoestring again, there are only about 22 episodes. It is perfect for UKTV Drama and doesn't exist on dvd!!

I have just read UK Gold's August tv listings on idigitalsales.co.uk and am disgusted at what I read.

1. The weekday run of Dallas has stopped completely. I remember similar action was taken by UK Gold back in 2000 after JR had been shot, the 5pm showing was cut but UK Gold did continue with the 11am showing until the completion of the series. All UK Gold seemed to be interested in was showing the series until the shooting of JR

2. Fantasy Island has disappeared completely

3. The Bill is no longer on at all?? How many years have UK Gold been showing this series at 9am for.......

4. No sign of old Doctor Who but new Dr Who (Eccleston/Tennant) seems to be on all the time

I do however (falsely) hope there are explanations for this such as:

1. Perhaps the above series are destined for UK Drama
2. Will UK Drama show The Bill from the early 1990s onwards and Dr Who from 1970 or before.


I have finally given up on UK Gold ever returning to what it once was. I hope they are ready for a backlash...

Can UK Drama please show Shoestring again, when UK Drama first started their daytime shedule it was on quite a lot but now you have ignored it for months and months.
I think you are in danger of showing Bergerac too much now!!

How about this suggestion, UK Drama should show older episodes of the bill, eg 1992 onwards. These are clearly TOO OLD for UK GOLD!!!!!!! The episodes on UK Gold (anything from 2001 onwards) at the minute are complete rubbish.

Please put Bergerac on in the early evening as UK Gold now show it at 4am in the morning!!!!

Yes UK Gold, why have you stopped Bergerac half way through Series 3?? I have finally lost all faith in your channel and will be watching your rivals like ITV3, ITV4 or Hallmark instead. UK Gold seems to have no interest in showing old programmes and would rather show golden oldies like My Hero or Little Britain!!

UK Drama however does now seem to show some older programmes these days. Perhaps you could dump Bergerac, Dallas, Lovejoy and other such programmes deemed too old for Uk ''Gold'' onto this channel. It also seems that early 1990s Baywatch is also too old for your channel as you have stopped it too. Any chance of listening to viewers comments guys??

You should take a leaf out of ITV4's book who are quite prepared to show 1960s and 1970s series regularly in the early evening such as The Persuaders, Jason King, The Protectors, Man in a Suitcase etc. Even BBC4 shows the Avengers! I see no series of this age on UK Gold!

I agree entirely, it's fantastic to have Bergerac back on UK Gold and from the first episode. In the last two runs, UK Gold skipped all the early series which are clearly the best. I hope UK Gold will show Bergerac in the evenings in the future, even if it is on UK Drama.

Thanks UK Drama for showing Shoestring. This is an excellent series which has not been repeated enough over the years. I also would like to think that there is space on UK Drama for repeats of such programmes as Dallas. Since you have shown all of Shoestring, there is no reason why UK Drama could not show its successor, Bergerac, from episode 1.??

Thanks UK Gold for showing The A-Team, it is fantastic. What I would also like is for UK Gold to start showing Bergerac from episode 1 onwards like they used to do. It is very annoying that on the previous 3 occasions that UK Gold have shown a run of Bergerac onwards, they have skipped the first 5 series, which were clearly the best!
I also would like UK Gold to show Dallas again, even if it was a late-night slot.

Yes, I would also like to see UK Gold show Doctor Who from the beginnining or at least from 'Spearhead from Space' onwards. It is disappointing that UK Gold have now skipped even the Tom baker era and restarted from 'Castrovalva'. It was only a couple of years ago that UK Gold showed all of Doctor Who from 1970 onwards and a daytime slot for 'Robot' onwards!
