I'm annoyed with Alibi showing repeats of the same episodes, also they’re showing re-runs of the “edited afternoon repeats” of Bergerac from a few years ago, you can tell which are the edited episodes because they have the post-1996 BBC logo at the beginning when the opening credits roll. The edits spoil the repeats of Bergerac and detract from the enjoyment of the shows Mad

About Shoestring

Shoestring is a great programme from the creator of Bergerac, Robert Banks Stewart. It’s good to see repeats of the show on Alibi every weekday afternoon and I just wish that all the episodes from Series 2 were shown on Alibi in the order they were broadcast originally, because all the episodes from Series 1 were shown in the exact order they were first broadcast. Also why are some of the Shoestring episodes on Alibi more heavily edited than others? For example, certain episodes from Series 1 & Series 2 are plagued by edits, sometimes these edits are in place to fit around the time-scheduling or they’re in place to remove material unsuitable for daytime viewing, such as Private Ear (slightly edited), Knock For Knock (slightly edited, plus the bit was Trevor Eve shouts at two men in a green Ford Transit van after they run him and his car off the road, that bit was edited out of the repeat, which aired on Monday 11th March 2009 at 2pm), Higher Ground (uncut), An Uncertain Circle (uncut), Listen to Me (uncut), Nine Tenths of the Law (uncut), The Link-Up (edited), Stamp Duty (uncut), Find the Lady (uncut), The Partnership (slightly edited) & I’m a Believer (edited)

Room With a View (heavily edited for time), The Teddy Bears’ Nightmare (slightly edited), Mocking Bird (uncut), The Mayfly Dance (slightly edited), The Farmer Had a Wife (slightly edited), Utmost Good Faith (slightly edited), Looking For Mr Wright (edited), Another Man’s Castle (slightly edited), Where Was I, (semi-uncut and semi-edited) & The Dangerous Game (very heavily edited for time)
