Hi there,
The email address problem is incredibly frustrating. The email address info@uktv.co.uk has been broken for a week or so - related to some changes to the BBC server that we were unaware of - and is being resolved urgently. In the meantime, you can email us on web@uktv.co.uk.
Hope this helps,
The UKTV team.

Well, I am glad to see that UKTV DO read these message boards as they edited my last posting to remove the email address of the lady at UKTV who I contacted regarding the pic/sound issue.

Anyway, pleased to say she replied to me and promised to have the matter investigated.

Thanks UKTV

TENKO!!! Now you see it-----Now you don't!!!!
Once again Tenko is being cut off in its prime! Why can't Drama show the whole programme- whole series--instead of 'bits'? It's not fair and certainly not professionalism by programmers. Whatever rules they are governed by (if any) do not take into consideration the wishes of the viewers. Secret Army seems to have been shown in full. As for constant repeats of progs such as 'Last of the summer wine'the fact that this is shown on 'Gold'Gold 2' etc is an insult. All Creatures wa shown in full. Please Drama, give us the 2nd series of Tenko. There are a wealth of 'older' progs and series around so why do we have to put up with so many old, tired and worn series such as Dads Army, It aint half hot mum and others of that ilk. It's 2007 and time for some 'new blood'. I'm getting hacked off with so much repeated rubbish. We need 'new' programmes. Either treat the viewer with respect or lose us!

Please UKTV channels, stop showing the dreadful Murder she wrote. Everywhere you look this darn programme is on.
Also Gold--what's happened to 'Doctors?' --Please don't start the series again from when Rani is there and Steve Rawlings. Seen it soooo many tmes. Also get shot of 'Baywatch'. Why can't the different channels actually show different programmes? MSW has been on at least 3 so has the equally awful 'Diagnosis Murder'. I know these programmes are probably fairly cheap to buy or rent or whatever it is you do but I am really feeling insulted at the constant barrage of repeated rubbish being aired at present. As I said before it's 2007. Give us some new programmes!!!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!

Could UKTV please answer my questions? I really want to know why TENKO was shown from the beginning then taken off again at exactly the same episode as just before Christmas. Secret Army has been shown for ages, as is Just Good Friends so was/is Bergerac and now again POLDARK. WHY? Please explain why you are not showing the second series of Tenko? This is an excellent series and has many more episodes worthy of airtime. Who plans the programmes? Given that they must have a vast array to choose from, the programmers haven't got a clue. Too many programmes of the same type shown back to back and far to many repeats of some series especially as I have said Murder she wrote. Definite overload.
Anyway, please answer WHEN WILL YOU SOW THE REST OF TENKO?
Also, regarding UKTV Gold channels why oh why are there constant repeats of Holby City?

er.....I'm still here or is there any particular reason why no one is answering my questions? I'll make it easy I'll ask one at a time.
1)""""WHEN WILL THE REST/SECOND SERIES OF TENKO BE SHOWN""???

2)WHEN WILL SECRET ARMY BE FINISHED? THE ACTING IS APPALLING. A dreadful series like this goes on..on...on....on.... but Tenko?
Go on answer my questions...I dare you

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in response - we have been waiting until we could give you correct information. Sadly, due to contractual reasons we are unable to show Tenko until July - however, you'll get to see series 2 and 3!

Regarding Secret Army, this is playing on UKTV Drama everyday at 9am.

Regards,

Beth

I keep getting email from uktv telling me I have got new posts in reply to my postings about subtitling and they come with a link urging me to "check it out" but when I try to do so I am unable to access these replies as there is no obvious way to access them. Can someone tell me how to do this?
As far as your subtitling goes, you ( uktv ) should urge your lawyers to study the Disabiliy discrimination Act clause 50 as you are in direct contravention of this act by not subtitling ALL of your programmes. Lets see how many replies are generated from this posting.
COME ON ALL YOU SUBTITLE USERS, LETS GIVE THEM SOME GYP TILL WE GET OUR FULL ENTITLEMENT. WRITE OR EMAIL YOUR MP ON THE SUBJECT. IF YOU WERE A WHEELCHAIR USER, YOU COULD SUE PEOPLE FOR NOT PROVIDING RAMPS OR WIDER DOORWAYS BUT BECAUSE OUR DISABILITY IS NOT VISIBLE WE GET IGNORED. IT IS YOUR RIGHT AND THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO GIVE US EQUAL ACCESS TO THEIR SERVICES ie ALL OUTPUT SHOULD BE SUBTITLED ON ALL CHANNELS OTHERWISE THEY WILL ONLY SUBTITLE THE BARE MINIMUM AS REQUIRED BY THIS CORRUPT GOVERNMENT IN THEIR GUIDELINES. IF WE WAIT UNTIL THE GOVT MAKE THEM MOST OF US WILL BE DEAD BY THE TIME THEY GET ROUND TO IT. SO ACT NOW AND GIVE THEM A BLIZZARD OF MAIL TO DEAL WITH, THEY CAN'T IGNORE ALL 9,000,000 OF US WITHOUT DISCRIMINATING.IT IS YOUR RIGHT.

HI Jane@UKTV,you don't seem to understand what I was complaining about re subtitling.
I receive email from uktv telling me there is a new message board post relating to the subject I discussed. With this email there is a link to click which I assume will show me any new posts on THAT SUBJECT.IT DOES NOT. It shows me all the other old posts and no way to access the new posts that have replied to my original post. This is not what I want to see . I want to see the posts relating to subtitling ie replies to my message from other users not uktv opinion.

Hi Deafman,
Thank you for your post about our message boards. Unfortunately there haven't been any replies to your message about subtitling from other users, just the three posts you can see between your two posts (one of which is from me). The other two don't relate to your post - one reason this is occurring is because this message thread is a general area that people can use to post comments about UKTV. If you want to only hear from people responding to a post about subtitling, go to the main message board for UKTV (Planet UKTV) and click on 'start a new topic'. Then post a comment about subtitling and ask for people to respond. Then click the tick box so that you will get an email reminder when somebody replies to your post.
Hope this helps,
The UKTV Team

Hi everyone,

RE: TELEVISION ACCESS

UKTV takes its television access obligations very seriously and takes all reasonable steps in order to comply with the Ofcom Code on Television Access Services and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (as amended by the Disability Discrimination Act 2005) ("DDA").

In the case of subtitling, it is UKTV's policy to exceed rather than comply with their current Ofcom targets. In the last Access Services figures published by Ofcom in 2006, UKTV was obliged to provide subtitles for 6.66% of programming on eight of their channels. However, UKTV were pleased to report that the percentage of subtitling broadcast in that period amounted to the following: UKTV Gold 58.5%; UKTV G2 31.5%; UKTV Food 41%; UKTV History 50%; UKTV Style 59%; UKTV Documentary 56%; UKTV Bright Ideas 39%; UKTV Drama 17%. Subtitles were also broadcast on UKTV People and UKTV Gardens despite their exemption from Ofcom regulation during this period.

We are very concerned to hear that you feel that UKTV aren't meeting your needs. As a result of your posting, we are planning to introduce an Access Services listings page on our website so that our viewers can check the availability of subtitled, audio described and visually signed programmes more easily. Please can we also reassure you that UKTV is committed to continuing to meet or exceed its statutory duties and Ofcom's annual and interim targets for the provision of television access services in the future.

Thanks
The UKTV Team

Can you at the uktv team tell me why good food live is being canned. It is one of the best live programms on UKtv so why stop it. Just read your message boards to see what your viewers think of this mindless bureaucracy. Angry Angry Confused Confused Cry Cry

You can't stop Good Food Live, it's the only thing worth watching at 11:00p.m. I don't believe there isn't a lot of mileage left in the programme, and Jenny's the most natural presenter on telly. The recent guests have been fantastic-Anton Mossiman especially was fascinating, and if he's prepared to be on, then surely it shows the programme attracts a great many fans, within and outwith the food business. And anyway, poor Andi Peters will probably have to go back on his meds if he has to watch something more racy!!

I must agree with previous writers. Why axe GFL? There is plenty of life left in the program and in Jeni you have an excellent presenter. She is a scream, full of life, chatty, pleasant and gets lots of information from her guests and co-presenters.
Somehow I cannot imagine Mrs Ramsey and Tom Parker Bowles having the same "pulling power". I will give the new show a go but I do not like Tom Parker Bowles' "self importance" style in his weekend newspaper food column so I hope that does not come across on the small screen.
I don't see why UKTV food cannot have both programs on!
Remove a few of the many repeats like Masterchef, Heavens Kitchen, Rick Stein, Two Fat Ladies etc and there are easily enough slots for GFL and the new program.
I have seen the repeats of the above so often that I only watch UKTV food now for GFL.
How about the new show at lunchtime with a repeat at 10pm and a live GFL at 6pm? Then let us viewers vote for which one to keep?
GFL is a great platform for new talent, new chefs, new products, issues of the day. A lot of the other chefs featured on UKTV only really became known to the public through GFL. Let's keep showcasing this talent on GFL.
Please think again UKTV. Just look at the number of viewers comments on your pages - you are alienating a lot of viewers who may well bite back!
