Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Episode One

I love watching Extreme Makeover, and often get quite emotional at the stories behind the programmes. However, one cannot help thinking that they could do a lot more, for a lot more people if they didn't throw SO much money at each project. Sure these people are deserving, but do they actually deserve State of the Art this that and the other? Wouldn't they happily live without a swimming pool and surround sound TV in every room if it meant that someone else could benefit the way they have? I am sure they would.

i think this show is the best make over show on tv, and i have watch some.
me and my mate sit crying bucket loads over this show and its always a topic of discussion.
its a shame this show is not in england but we can not build houses in 7 day.....not ones that will with stand our weather conditions
but it would still be nice to see some exterem make overs in england
and just to add to that i think ty is fabulous (mental)

every one thinks that we carn't build a house in 7 days in england but we can with the right team all the house's we normally build here is brick&morter but what about timber houses just as strong and quick to build i would like to to do a make over here in england with the right team and start our own exstreme makeover my new name for this would be (extreme makeover uk) what do you all think

One of the biggest problems in bringing a show like this to the UK is the amount of planning permission and building inspections that need to take place.

They would be unable to take over whole streets to use as construction sites, the health and safety executive would have a field day and be stopping work all the time.

We have too much red tape for something like this to be successful over here.
