Just followed some of your leads about finding pics of Paul, flogitfan. Thanks for those! Nice to see him wearing something different from his usual FI wardrobe on some of them!!

Well I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't found the estate agents brochure, would like to get a glimpse before it disappears. Whilst you can't post links on this messase board, perhaps those who have any useful info and belong to the BHFI site could post them there?
I'm a bit confused over next weeks's listings for Flog It as only the Wednesday one says it's a repeat and has no mention of Paul (so assume Kate is presenting) but the other days do not say they are repeats but mention places like Bristol & I.o.W which have already been broadcast Confused But as they are on in the afternoon next week, shall have to tape them all regardless.

I too am confused about next weeks Flog It!s The Radio Times does not give'R' for any (except tonight's) but the listings guide in today's Daily Telegraph gives repeat for all except Monday's. In Monday's show (from Bristol) the info on the BBC site says that Paul goes on some ferry boats and sees some miniature books. I definitely haven't seen this one before (I enjoy anything about Bristol because I spent the first 13 years of my life there). The BBC2 listings on the BBC web site gives Paul as presenter for all shows next week.

Hello fellow Droolers Wink and particularlycenturions. No Flog It! on Thursday, Friday, and tonight, i expect the excuse for cancelling tonights programme had something to do with a royal wedding Blurgh. It has been a lousy week for Paul fans Cry hopefully next week will be better.

Whilst on a Paul Martin mission last weekend to find out anything to do with 'the man' i came across the Portmeirion info and pics. This feature is particularly dear to my heart as i have a love of anything Welsh, i'm very fond of Portmeirion, and this Flog It is one of my favourites.

I also came across Kingsley Auction Rooms, it has a feature about their sale which took place on 11/01/05. There is lots of info regarding the filming set up etc, and a rather nice pic of Paul drawing a raffle. I'll certainly look up the other sites that flogitfan suggested.

Hi DaisyDee, don't give up trying! Somebody said to use Google, put in the address etc with quotation marks, but that didn't work for me....i don't know why. I spent ages trying to find it then it just kind of happened. I kept coming up with Kingsbury Hill Antiques at the address (perhaps that was the previous name), but i guess i'm a bit like a Pit Bull Terrier- once i get my teeth into something i won't let go Mad. I'm lucky cos' i work from home and can spend lots of time searching- but there ain't much work gone on the last week or so!!! The only thing i can say is that the estate agents dealing with the prospective sale is Dreweatt Neate, Marlborough. I hope this doesn't get edited! Do you have the same user name on BHFL?

Glad you all got back copies of Decembers issue of Antiques & Collectables magazine, i bet they wondered what was going on with the sudden demand! Maybe they realise it was to do with a certain presenter, perhaps they will persuade him to do some more interviews as it can only boost their sales! I thought it was so sweet of him to say that he was a pin-up for the over sixties, he's either very modest, or completely oblivious to whats going on around him.

Floellaebony- I thought the front page pic would come in handy for your purse, so you can look at him every time you open it :-)))

Couldn't resist posting again. I've looked again at the pictures of his flat and have now noticed a naff, modern mobile hanging near the sofa. Obviously the girly touch I hadn't noticed before. So he has a girlfriend who buys too many shoes and doesn't appreciate antiques. Oh dear. But then, men like to feel superior to their women.

The prominence of the picture of his dog and an absence of one of her speaks volumes, though. Also, the sofa looks like it's there for Bluebell's benefit - it's in the same state he is. A bit crumpled and is not making a style statement!

The prominence of his own photograph belies your dreamy ideas of his unawareness of his own looks and following. And look at the deadly serious, traditional paintings and the grand piano! And what about the industrial strength coffee table full of magazines - no doubt all antiques magazines full of articles about him. But not a book in sight.

And there is a stag's head on the wall. I did wonder about a fisherman vegetarian, but this makes him a complete hypocrite.

Who livs in a house like this? Girlies, it's over to you.

Ha ha - you do make me laugh PC - your attention to detail is amazing. I couldn't see anywhere near as much as you could - couldn't make out the detail on the photos at all. And the 'stag's head' was just a dark shape that vaguely resembled one - it may not have been. I would certainly be suprised if it was, I find any type of dead creature used for decoration quite disgusting - and I really would have thought that Paul would too - anyone who gets to meet up with him - please ask for an explanation!
As for the sofa - how dare you madam/sir! - my sofa looks exactly like that - very comfortable it is too - it's even the same colour and I have the same colour throw lol! I loved the furnishings actually - shabby chic, I would feel very comfortable there and it's a lovely sized room.
As Paul studied woodwork, I wouldn't be suprised if he made the coffee table himself - and with all those mags to read, how would he find time to read books? Anyway, there are 2 other bedrooms which we could not see, I keep all my books in my spare bedroom, maybe he does too - I'm quite convinced he will have a stack of them somewhere. Also you have to bear in mind that these photos were intended for public perusal, therefore he would keep personal items to a minimum and I wouldn't be at all suprised if the photo of himself (where ever that might be?) may have been the selling agent's idea to garner a little more interest - I feel quite sure that he is not at all aware of himself - but I DO think you are trying to wind us up lol!

I too was a bit surprised about the stag's head on the wall. Originally I thought it was a moose though. Anyway, no-one's mentioned yet the wet footprints on the bath mat Cheeky

I haven't been able to spot the mobile phone - but to my untrained eye, the objects piled on the coffee table look like books.

Sorry, Daisy, it's definitely a stag's head, I can make it out clearly on my PC.
But then, someone on here said he coveted a stuffed fox, so he seems a bit confused when it comes to animal welfare. Unless he is vegetarian for health reasons, not moral ones.

Yes, I have an eye for detail! But you're right, some of them are books, my mistake. No shelves of them, though. I love my books and don't think much of someone who spreads books about for effect only.

The pictures of him and dog may well have been the agent's idea but PM would have to give permission. And the footprints on the bathmat - yes, how did I miss those - are probably there for the same reason. The ego is even bigger than I thought! Either that, or he is just unhygienic.

No, thinking about it, it's deliberate. Everyone viewing the details is supposed to faint with delight over the mental image of PM climbing out of his bath. Which, of course, you all will!

This man is a colossal, egotistical monster. Which is why he's sold out to TV, of course.

He'll get his comeuppance. They all do. But they'll all play their part in wrecking the antiques trade first. It's called burning your bridges. And lining your pockets, of course.

Oh, and flogitfan, I meant a hanging mobile, the sort on a string, not a mobile phone!

I think calling Paul a 'colossal, egotistical monster' is a bit rich!

Daisydee- the Darius site I have posted on is not the official one, but another site. You could try typing dariusmusic into google, and select dot net, not dot com(that's the official one). There is a thread on there in the forum called 'Don't Forget To Breathe' called 'I just met Paul Martin'. There's also a silly thread I started on there about Paul being the new James Bond, but that has no pics in it! I hope you find it! Don't forget to ogle Darius while you're there!!! Big Grin

You really are a wind up merchant PC!
Hee Hee - I'm chuckling at your assertions - you know as well as anyone that Paul is a nice guy - be you male or female - you've obviously got a pash on Paul but are severely in denial lol! Tongue

"But then, someone on here said he coveted a stuffed fox"

No - it was a toy fox not a taxidermy one.

"I love my books and don't think much of someone who spreads books about for effect only. "

More a case of your own cynicism Roll Eyes

And I'm quite sure Paul has shelves of books somewhere, but good for him to have some at arms length - he obviously reads them.

"This man is a colossal, egotistical monster. Which is why he's sold out to TV, of course.

He'll get his comeuppance. They all do. But they'll all play their part in wrecking the antiques trade first. It's called burning your bridges. And lining your pockets, of course. "

You're obviously desperately in love with this guy. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Far from wrecking the antiques trade, I should think all these TV progs are doing it a world of good

I'm still puzzled about the wet footprints on the bathmat - where????? Can you see a room that I can't? Confused

Hello particularlycenturions. A nice dry sunny(quite) Sunday afternoon and i see that you have nothing better to do than denounce our Paul and his flat! You appear to be quite obsessed with 'the man', could it be that you are really smitten and a closet Drooler Big Grin. Do you seriously believe that he has/will burn his bridges, he's certainly not an halfwit, and for all we know he could have his fingers in all sorts of pies. As for ruining the antiques trade? Do i detect a streak of jealousy, he's only human you know, wouldn't you grasp an opportunity to line your pockets, wouldn't anyone? Then again perhaps you are above that Roll Eyes. In my opinion Paul looks great, many agree, why do you feel that he should be making a style statement, doesn't he have the right to dress and look as he pleases?

You say "no doubt all the antiques mags are full of articles about him".......teehee wish they were! As for "who lives in a house like this", well i agree with DaisyDee, i would feel at home there too, however, a bit of the clutter would have to go....but only to make way for mine Wink .

The throw on the settee may well be for Bluebell's benefit, but i can't see her sleeping in the bed. I thought the bedding had a feminine touch, looks like nice crisp linen to me. Then again it could be Paul's choice, after all he does have good taste, men who are slightly in touch with their feminine side usually do, and they make better partners!!! I suspect the smallest bedroom could be used as a closet, no doubt full of his girlfriend's shoes. I love shoes and boots, but it doesn't make me some bimbo who doesn't appreciate antiques.

Hello everyone it has been fantastic that my original message has created so much response. I first liked Paul Martin when I was looking after my mother who was 89 years old and she thought that he was the best thing since sliced bread. She unfortunately died in July and I have felt that I must find out more about him as I think she is living on in me, as I think he is lovely and would really like to met him. Does anyone know when the next Flog it will be.
I dont really want to change the subject but does anyone like John Torode (MasterChef presenter) I wondering if he attracts the same type of person. Sorry to interupt you conversation I look forward to reading your messages. Smile

Yes there is a pic of the bathroom in the brochure. He has a lovely old-style bath.

Darius fan- would you like your pics with Paul put on my fansite? Anyone else too. I'm creating a fan section with pics of people with Paul.

No, I'm afraid John Torode does not light my fire Wink

So where is this pic of the bathroom then? Is it on the website page? I can't find it anywhere and want to take a look at the wet footprints lol! Are they male or female? Wink

Hello again particularlycenturions, i just wondered if, whilst scrutinizing Paul's pad, you have seen a phone anywhere? I would have expected to have see an old pyramid or candlestick phone somewhere. I also wondered in what way the wet foot prints on the bath mat deem him as unhygienic? Perhaps they are there to give the place a 'lived in' feel. But oh yes, the mental image of him climbing out of his bath....well i didn't exactly faint, but i did need to lay down for a while Big Grin.

I mentioned something a couple of weeks ago on the BBC message board about how one of my favourite Flog It's was the one with a stuffed fox up for auction. Paul had taken a real shine to it and said "ohhh i could give that fox sooo much love....if only i was allowed to buy it!" Erm, i thought i made it clear that he was referring to a toy fox!!!

As for the mobile you referred to, it doesn't necessarily prove lack of taste, it may have been a present from someone, and with Paul being a kind, considerate, thoughtful kind of guy, he may not have wanted to hurt their feelings by not displaying it. Then again he might have bought it himself.
