Hi everyone,

In a nutshell, No, Paul was not the same guy you see on television. I saw him for about 30 mins while we were waiting for our flight. I'm sorry to say he never smiled once. Just sat reading a magazine, chewing gum. When he checked in he was last in the queue, his girlfriend, who was looked to be in her mid twenties, put her arms around his waist and rested her head on his chest. He put his arms around her and they queued like the rest of us! It was difficult to imagine that he was this larger than life character on TV. Even when he checked his bags in he never smiled. I must say it was pretty disappointing. Hope he is more cheerful when he's in the Scilly Isles.!!

Grumble-weed..... why is it odd that he was flying from Newquay??? You seem to imply that I'm lying? He was flying to St. Marys in the Scilly Isles on the AirSouthWest Airbus. I myself was flying to Leeds Bradford Airport - please don't say that's strange also, because Air South West have just started doing flights to Newquay. I should know I have family there and usually do the 8 hour drive 3 times a year. Why don't you look on their website, you will see where they fly to if you're that bothered. Anyway, this is my last post. This is like every other site, very 'clicky' with a couple of people who seem to rule the roost. Very Sad... goodbye

and in a stamp of a foot fleeting visit has left the building

shame really, fleeting you and anyone else are welcome to join the group

isn't it strange that people have to 'fight' for attention

i didnt see anyone make any implications of anything

ok i have looked for a roost here and nope i cant find one lol

i'm sorry you feel like you arent able to get on with the rest of these lovely people here because you are missing out terribly,
YOU have made the only implication that being other people havent accepted you

feel free to ostracize yourself

happy foot stamping

Big Grin

Fleetingvisit - Those who know me will tell you that I'm not the sort of person to make underhanded remarks about ANYONE (... & please accept my apologies if I upset you in any way)

The reason I said it was odd, couldn't be further from attacking your honesty (which for the record, is something I'd NEVER do). We live in Cornwall, and make regular visits to the Scillys - We always make the VERY lengthy trip to Penzance though - If I'd have known they wnt from Newquay, it would've saved us a lot of time & hassell, as we live very close by... Simple as that.

I wish you hadn't of been so hasty to judge me.

Like I said, I'm sorry if you read into this the wrong way... Those who know me better, know I call a spade a spade - I can't tell you how TERRIBLY upset I am that you thought I was insinuating anything beyond what I wrote...

Aw, come back Fleetingvisit, we are all friends here, not clicky - just folks with a common interest - Paul!
My understanding of what GW was saying, is that she didn't know folks were able to fly between these two places and, thanks to your info, she has learned something. I really did not get the idea that she was doubting your word, we have all been very interested in what you have been telling us.
It is SO easy to misinterpret words on a screen with no sound to give our words the correct definition - been there, believe me! All we can do is put right any misunderstanding, which Grumbleweed has done, so please lets all be friends hmmm? Hug

Hi there hippo43! There isn't much info on Paul on the 'net I'm afraid- believe me, we've all looked!! Cheeky He is quite a private person. But that doesn't stop us trying of course! Anyway, there is a great interview in this month's 'Yours' magazine with him that I'd recommend checking out for definite. I see that you're from Wales! Me too. Hug

If you haven't already, I'd check out Laura's msn group which is totally fab! It's our little haven. I also have a site about him, not as much action on that though as on Laura's, lol! Although we did have a little bit of excitement this week when Peter Griffin came on the guestbook and decided to call himself 'God'!! Eek

I wonder if they are ever gonna update this "Who is Paul Martin" info. He's been 41 for ages now - and we know he's had another birthday this year Wink They don't seem to have noticed that this message board is extremely popular - you'd have thought they'd have cottoned on and given us a bit more info. Laura spends her life sourcing stuff for us on her site and she doesn't even fancy him. Laura, you are a saint HugLorna, you're a saint too Hug and the rest of you ladies are gorgeous and I love every one of you (no I'm not p*ssed)By the way, Fleetingvisit never came back did she - that's a shame Cry

Hey floellaebony,
Aren't you going to Leamington Spa? How are we going to know each other as Paul Martin fans and members of the msn site? What is something we could wear as a sign? Like a yellow ribbon pinned to the bottom of our skirt or pants leg or (shorts?, surely not). Big Grin
Fleetingvisit did say "fleetingvisit". I wanted to know the name of the magazine!

Yes, Scallopqueen, I am hoping to go to Leamington! I think we will definitely have to come up with a "sign" so that we know eachother! It would be great if we could get hold of some Paul Martin t-shirts or something! Hug

Hi everybody,
I have an idea. Tell me what you think. I thought of the Paul Martin t-shirt but not for the valuation day. I was saving that for our date. I am going to wear a jacket over it of course. I want to be subtle. Cool How about a Paul Martin pin? I am talking about a broach. I've seen this done with a keychain. You could take P.'s picture and put it in a small frame and then with a safety pin and a hot glue gun make a broach and wear it right over your heart. Wink What do you think?

I think that is an excellent idea Scallopqueen! You're right, subtle is the best way to go Smile The picture off the cover of Antiques & Collectables would be ideal for a brooch (mine's no good as my son defaced it) I have 2 tiny pictures that I cut out of the paper and put in little frames that came out of Christmas crackers - I crossed out the captions, "Flogging a Dead Horse" and "Flog It To Be Axed", as they upset me Cry Yes, brooches are the way to go, save your t-shirt for the wedding - I mean, date! Hug
