Nickers of any kind are there to keep your privates just that, private! OK, I would do it myself, and think it is a horrible 'fashion', but why should I have the embarrassment of telling my 8 year old son that they couldn't care!

It is not sexy, it is downright disgusting. And after all it is called UNDERwear. Embarrassed

Never mind knickers, just a daft phase proving the fssshion 'industry' has run out of daft ideas. Won't last. The traditional Muslim 'overall' (forgotten name) would be ideal for toady's (sorry, today's) wimmin. It covers all, works better than black M&S sacks for hiding the bulges. Is infinitely better in hiding the faults than shell suits or good old lovely woodchip (anyone with an old house should love woodchip) and the only thing we need to compare is ankles and eyes. Therefore we can do away with all the utterly daft bint mags (generally written and edited by 'Bubbles Devere types') which just remind you that unless you have a figure like Michael Jackson you're an alien, blubberpuss, 'Bubbles Devere ' heiffer. Even if you are a bit of a blubb so what, no chap wants to make love to a women with a figure so skinny and unfeminine as his toolbox. If these mags are not endorsing and promoting peadophilia then I'm a banana.

Well you could bank on the 'Large' bird to say, 'Its what's inside that counts'. Oh come on lass are you for real? No one wants to see man or women with there loose flesh wabbling all over regardless where it is! I have by far a washboard tummy, never have never will no matter how hard i try. But as a size 10-12 i still wouldn't in a million years let it all hang out. No one wants to see love handle hanging over jeans with a thong on show. YUK. OR peoples over stretched dimpled Jelly like tummy. Put it away and keep it for the one who loves you. When it comes to the slimmer girl with a firm flat tummy and no love handles it still looks stupid, no one wants to see the bit that actually goes up the crack of the butt as no one knows how clean it is. BUT it looks a lot nicer to see a young fit girl wears such clothing that shows off her figure, but a fatty..... well fetch me a bucket.

So what do you think of the current fashion for men to slouch their trousers- no belt thanks, and let them slide down over their hips til it is a wonder they don't fall off completely, revealing in the process a very indifferent pair of boxers? Yuk. I am just so-o-o tempted to administer a short, sharp 'correction' and hoik them up. Suddenly, and preferably without warning.

One other thing I've noticed is that a just a few skinny lizzies don't seem to have left room on the inside for a character of any description. Down the gym 3 times a week, mealtimes picking at lettuce = fantastic body, nobody home. Try and get one of these to cook you a roast dinner.

For the record, I have been a variety of sizes but the most fun was with silver lycra trousers. Wink

Hi All
I think it depends on the person. Everyone seems to be saying that larger ladies (and they are still ladies, remember ..) shouldn't wear sexy underwear on display but it's okay for skinny bots to bend and show! I am a petite 10/12 - but still feel 'hippy'. I do like nice underwear for going out, comfy underwear for staying in, and either for work & gym - depends if it's skirts or trousers. I also quite like the lacy 'shorts' style ones.

Personally, it took me a long time to catch on to the trend of 'showing the thong' and felt quite sexy but that was more probably to do with losing a stone. But to me, nothing beats a classy 'l.b.d.' (little / long black dress) unspoilt by lines & straps of any kind.

The worst thing to wear is 'tit tape' or the adhesive bra cups which are - for want of better words - large elastoplasts. Supposedly for small sized women like me who still need support - rubbish - they don't work and brought me out in a rash. The only good thing about them is I can wear my backless top with confidence. Now there's a fashion that my husband likes - my back on show.

Well said Angela!
I have gone from a size 18 to a size 8 and the difference in clothes I wear is obvious to everyone who knows me but I am still the same person - just shrunk a bit!!

Confused
I cannot believe that girls would do this. It looks generally awful, but when the thong is a bit tatty or freyed or even a white thong which has discoloured into a yukky grey, that is even worse. And how about the ones that leave the label in the back so that you are made perfectly aware of what size they are!!! Big Yuk. If you have to do it take out the label and make sure the thong matches your outer clothes and make sure the thong is exceptionally pretty. Not a cheapo tatty thong. Get some style girls!

Hi all but in particular AINOSBAX,

I am not that "Large bird" - that is something you eat - especially at this time of year Smile

You are entitled to your opinion and I hope that you never have to experience a weight problem... but then again - if I had a wish I certainly wouldn't waste it on you.

And before you say - I was very fit, extremely active and could probably have run you into the ground and left you panting for breath (having spent 3 years in the Police and then 9 years in the Army) - the latter whilst I was a size 18+... just because I am large does not mean that I eat unhealthily, lazy, nor am I what I eat - do not make assumptions without knowing the facts.

I can put weight on dieting - not cheating etc - so it is very hard but over time I have learned to accept who I am - and stuff anyone else - their opinion does not matter to me.

But then you have not got a weight problem so would always assume the worse. Unless you have been there do no judge lest you be judged yourself and found wanting.

What I was saying is it is society that makes the rules, decides what is the norm and then punishes people (one way or another) for being different. Why should that be?. Who says that you have to be this or do that? Who gives them the authority?.

Why should I cover my body?. I am not ashamed of it!!! I also wrote to see what sort of a reaction I would get - wondering who would bite - and bite someone did.

Should I burn my bra - yes I probably will once I retire - until then I will resort to doing so - and wearing shorts - in the privacy of my own garden - if there were not so many neighbours I would probably go topless instead.

I will now get down off my soapbox.

For those who know that I never judge and try to be helpful this reply will probably come as a bit of a shock.

If people want to wear thongs and show them - good on them, regardless of how they look - because who are you to judge?.

thongs on women only look good on a nice slim figure otherwise in my opinion they should wear something a little less revealing Big Grin

Thongs are great because they were made to hide the knicker line of a tight dress...
Blurgh yes i do agree the whole showing underwear thing is up to the individual. People must know is isn't ladylike to show her underwear, but thats up to the wearer. Hug

Mad
It's not fashionable anymore but there was a time when your knickers were seen in pe lessons, on the washing line or by your partner. Surely we ought to leave something to the imagination. I would think some of the things I see over the waistband are rather uncomfortable anyway. Some could do with washing or throwing away too. Keep them in the bedrom and don't send your kids to school in them.

Eek I really think the gist of this message has got lost along the way, wasnt it to do with whether you should or should not see a thong sticking out over trousers/skirts etc? Personally i think it looks disgusting and have had to endure seeing it at work time without number, saying that the blokes dont look too bothered when they see a bit of knicker

Fatzina and anyone else!!

You can all wear what you like, and what you say about what belongs on the inside count more than the outside, I agree with, but for pitty's sake we dont all have to look at at your underwear.

As another bigger lady i agree that we shouldn't make fat remarks, but neither should we big girls think it is ok to dress like thinnies.

On the thong debate, its not for me, but sometimes it looks nice on a lovely slim lady. Very few of us really have the figure for it though!! Tongue

I don't think its the most attractive look - lets leave something to the imagination girls!

Mind you, it's better than some of the male builder's posteriors I have seen - you know, the ones you can park a bike in!!!

Janet Reger do beautiful thongs with diamanté features at the back which do look lovely but they're only visible when I wear jeans. Wouldn't have anything poking over the top of a skirt.

Cheeky i think that style is up to the individual i personaly do not find woman showing a bit of thong or whatever distasteful so i can only think that there are an awful lot of proods in this world who just find discust in to many things so if your fat thin letting it all hang out or spreading out so what!

Confused Have been away a while and have just read the posts here.

Akingsho, We are all entilteled to an opinion are we not? And all entitled to voice them here?

I did not imply 'You are what you eat' or that 'You eat unhealthy'. I gave an opinion that Regardless of size a thong on show is not nice but looks worse I THINK on a larger lady. I also said that MEN who do it looks as naff. Facts regarding this subject i know none and never said i did. Read my post i gave no facts OR assumptions just an opinion. You also talk about accepting who you are and are not fazed by others opinions, so why then talk about your 'weight problem' you say you dont have and direct your post to ME? Why because i gave my opinion? I never judged anyone like you said i have. I gave my opinion. You are really that compfortable with yourself you took my opinion as judgement? And it seams you found my post personally offencive. I appologise, that was not my intention. I have a sister who is 18st for christ sake but that wont change my thoughts on the matter.
I do think loads of flesh on show where ever is repulsive. I dont think it is nice whatever the size or shape. but thats my opinion. It wont change because of what you have slated me off for.
