Hi all, watching changing rooms & seeing Carol Smilie making new sofa covers, looks easy, would like to have a go but don't know where to start, any ideas

Buy them ... :D ...lol real nightmare to fit let alone make.

You could use some scrap material or cheap calico to make an experimental cover then when you've got it just right - transfer the pattern to your proper material and make up.

Making new sofa covers can be very easy but it all depends on the shape and size of your sofa!

I'd advise you to visit your local library as there are lots of helpful books on making covers to be found. I did have a look online for you but couldn't find anything.

As victoria said, definitely use the cheapest material you can get hold of for your first try... If it turns out okay, dye it to whatever colour you like to save you making another one.
