Hello!

James Martin will be doing a live chat this weekend. He'll be here at 5pm on Sunday. We're also happy to receive questions in advance but bear in mind that time often means we can't always get through them all. Anyway, post any questions you have here!

All the best,

I am unable to join the Chat, but please can you tell James I saw him at Urban Gardens exhibition and he Demo was just excellent and I still chuckle at the fact he put the fish he was cooking on the wrong side of the cooker so it didn't quite cook it was nice to see even the professtionals make mistakes.
I also hope to see him a Blenheim in July. Loved Sweet too although I put on the pounds just watching it.
My Question is out of all the recipes on Sweet which is his favourite/s?
Mine was Brownies and the Sticky toffee pudding oh those Calories
and please don't retire
Take care
Lorena

Hi All - Some questions for James:

1) Is there any food/s that you really hate? (Never been able to see what all the fuss is about olives personally. Yuk!)

2) Any other suggestions for a dessert along the lines of your Basil Ice Cream? Kind of savoury/sweet thing? (Girls - you have to try the Basil Ice Cream. Made it for Husband on his birthday. He normally gags at sweet things but ate bowlfuls of this stuff. It is well worth the time and effort. Imagine this with a nice glass of Pimms on a sunny day. Mmm.)

3) If you werent a chef - what other profession would you like to be doing?

Thx - L Embarrassedx (See you at Blenheim!)

3. Non food Question What type of Music do you like?

4. What is your favorite Chocolate bar? When I can suffer the head aches it gives me I love Mars Bars and I always eat the choclate off first weird I know.
Take care

We have been told that there are no plans for a book to go with the Sweet series. Is there any chance that you may reconsider and publish the recipes?

James what would you use to substitute chocolate, I am allergic to chocolate and it's a nightmare but I have been known to swallow Malteasers whole on those days when you just need to have choc. Also what has been your worst kitchen disaster and do you ever get fed up of cooking?
p.s. if you do sail round the world at 40 and need some company - just ask!

And even more importantly, is there going to be a TV series to go with "Great British Dinners"? (And please note that "no" is not an acceptable answer, James!)

Can't make the chat - I'm going to Monkey World on Sunday!! So, here are my questions.....

Hello James,

Are there any questions you hate being asked (perhaps repeated time and time again wherever you go?) - or is there a question you would love to answer, but haven't been asked as yet?!

On a culinary note... I'm thinking of replacing my kitchen - do you think I should go for a gas or electric oven/hob? In your experience, which cooks the most evenly?

Thanks!

Helen W.

Would like to post a question:

Am considering a course of study as a (very amature) dessert chef. Any advice on where (in UK) and type of course (pastry only? chocolate only? the works?) and advice advice on teachers? Unless, of course, you run a school...Delicious!

Cheers, Ian and James!

I adore merangue (Pavlova style) but always manage to turn the merangue brown or cream, I seem to remember my mum got them white by leaving them overnight in the airing cupboard - is this the best way and is it at all hygenically safe?

Also how comes my chocolate mousse gets water at the bottom of the glass (Using whisked egg whites and melted chocolate method)

I seem to have big problems with Eggs!

Hi James, sorry won`t be able to make the chat on Sunday Embarrassed(, as I will be in Monaco watching the grand prix Embarrassed)!!,

Is there any chance that maybe one day when you`re not to busy you could venture up to East Anglia and do a few demonstrations in a stately home?.

I always read with envy of the people who have seen you,and always hope one day you would venture to this part of the country.

I would also like to know if you like Formula One, if so who is your fav driver/team?.

Thanks

Love Sarah xxxx

James Martin and Brian Turner are my favourite chefs. Please, tell James yesterday he gave me an amazing recipe to eat italian biscuits he has cooked. In Italy we use eating them deeped in red wine and never in ice cream and I have to say they are very tasty prepared in his way. Can you please, James , give an italian woman a new recipe to eat savoiardi biscuits in other way, besides tiramisu?

thank you ciao!

Hi James
Enjoyed your series Sweet; when will we see more?
Can you tell me where I can buy concentrate of vanilla, not the essence found in most supermarkets?
Are we able to have a signed photo as the one received at the Good Food Show is fading a bit? How can I receive a new one
Love

Hi James
Just want to let you know that your deserts are to die for. I saw you making some chocolaty stuff on the TV. I thought this is death by chocolate. The thing I like about you is that your recipes are so simple and easy to follow. I'm looking for a recipe of Almond Tart. Do you have any and do you own a restaurant where I can visit to sample some of your dishes?
You are the best chef to grace our screen.
Lots of Love
Priscilla

Hi James, just a quick one.

I have seen loads of yummy recipies for flourless cakes and puds which use almonds as a substitue. Unfortuanately I am allergic to almonds and was wondering if there was an alternative to this.

Cheers Lesley

I`m thinking of buying a new cooker, at the moment I have an electric cooker with a fan oven Most recipes you see Don`t give settings for fan ovens so I am thinking about going dual fuel Gas hob with an electric double oven. What is your advice?
