Our garden backs onto a road and although the wall around the garden is 6 foot high on our side it is only about 2' 6" on the outside. How can we stop the local children from walking the wall. As this seems to be the latest craze at the moment. Also if a child fell of the wall into the garden and hurt themselves would we be liable for their injury?

Hi Honeysuckle8,

Yes, I suspect you might be liable for their injuries - you would need to get planning permission to erect a fence - because the maximum height 1.8 metres is taken from natural ground level.

Alternatively you could get a builder to add brick peaks to the wall to make it impossible for them to climb on it.

Thanks for your suggestions Angela. I'll look into the possibility of adding bricks to the top of the wall. That sounds the most attractive solution as it would blend in with the existing bricks. We do worry about a child falling into our garden and hurting themselves because it is quite a drop.
