Meantime, UKTVStyle team (xxx) can you help me with my real life mortgage problems - who suggested that I should take out an endowment mortgage!! Four separate policies. Are they all to blame.
Hope you are all well.
Cheers

Hi Les,

How goes it - not spoken to you for ages.

I do think that you may have a case against all 4 of them for saleing you the wrong product as they all could well be to blame if they did not give you the proper financial advice at the time that there might not be sufficient money to pay off the mortgage.

How are things apart from that. I have you sorted out the fir cones yet this year... you could do a roaring business spraying them silver and selling them - or just bagging them up for people to add to their fire places... Warning though - dont light them they spit...

Hi Les,
It is all water -or in this case money- under the bridge regarding endowment mortgages, and you only have a certain amount of time to put things right... www.thisismoney.com has some on 'endowments' but I got sidetracked by a recent article about companies trying to wriggle out of paying compensation. (Not surprising, now that the scale of the problem is becoming clearer.) So it is even more essential now to go through the proper channels and know what to expect.

I chose a boring old repayment mortgage so am unaffected, but if interest rates had stayed at over 10% for the last decade I would be the one miserable.

Best wishes, Trisha

No need to worry after today, Tricia and Angela, I said 'White Rabbits' and wished to win some money!
Meantime, UKTVStyle Team (xxx) thanks. I presume Debbie will help me to win the money I wished for?
Best Wishes

Hi again Les,
There is an endowment survival pack at-

I knew they would get around to it sooner or later. Not as good as what you signed up for I know, but I hope this helps.

I am glad that you may get some advice on this Les - and also glad that I have a straight old fashioned repayment mortgage - and if mortgage rates go up I will just have to rent out one of the spare rooms...

Hi, Style Girl,
I think I have lost the plot with this computer. No matter which search engine I go through, I cannot access the website you refer to. Don't know what I have done. Can I access via your search box, please?
Cheers

Les,

what you do is copy what she has put (highlight it all and then press ctl and c at the same time) and put paste it into the address box (by pressing ctl and v at the same time) on your toolbar and then click go.

It should then take you to the advice.

If that still does not work click on the life tab at the top (like you would chat) and then it is there under Endowment...

Angie, you are a little treasure. I can't get my cut and paste to work but your alternative solution (go to the life tab) did the trick.
I seem to read and read about this. I answer questions but having four separate endowments makes it very difficult. What I do know, though, is that I do not recall one of them being offered with the knowledge that they might not perform enough to meet the mortgage. I am on to it and I am paving the way to follow Debbie's very clear instructions.
I must not forget young Tricia though. I will also try as many avenues as I can.
Bless you all for caring.
Cheers
Les

Cool Hi All, how are you all. Only 6 months to go before I have paid off my mortgage - hopefully, if I live long enough?? Looks as though paying extra every month is going to have paid off. Thankfully! Big Grin
