Hi all,

I would like to have enough money to be on Relocation X 3 - unless they can find me two properties in this area for under £ 150 K that is...

I would like a comfortable crash pad in the town where I work so I would not have to commute... then I would like a place in the Country - about a maximum 2 hours drive for the weekend - maybe somewhere I could do up... I would also ultimately like to keep some animals, a donkey, geese, ducks, chickens etc...

Then when I retire I would like to be completly potty (I have to be too serious at work for my liking) drive around the lanes in a pony and trap wearing a purple hat (for those who know the poem)...

I can feel another posting coming on...

I wouldn't mind a turn on Location (X3) while it is in ftb mode, not likely to happen since I have to move in the next 6 months if possible. I am not strictly a ftb since I do have a house to sell, but I can only go up to £100K which is ftb territory. Sadly I am not photogenic myself, but I do have a dalmation who is a star, and she will charm the viewers.

Never mind 'a girl can dream', what about a 'young' lad like me.
Great disappointments a couple of weeks ago.
I applied to join a 'Can't Sing Singers' programme - for the BBC I think. They rang me at my office and were interested in me taking part. Trouble was it meant two journeys a week to Birmingham, which time/my job would not allow. What have you all missed??
Meantime, did you see my cat Socks' picture in the Daily Mail, Peterborough page last Wednesday(28th July)? She was sending a message on my computer and suggesting she would drink a cup of tea with her other paw.
Socks was a bit disappointed. Either I, or the Daily Mail called her a 'him'!
Cheers

I would love to be on What not to Wear with Suzannah and Trinny. I am going to be a grandma in a few months for the first time and this gorgeous babe deserves a trendy grandma - my husband says I wear granny shoes!! Some days I just feel so frumpy - in fact most days!!! Hope you're reading this Trinny and Suzannah!!

Riah comment - is there any new programmes on UKSTYLE? I've long since stopped watching most programmes - the house doctor - repeat after repeat after repeat - some of the hair styles are 5 and 6 years old! House invaders - loved the programme but I've seen them all - 2, 3, 4 times and more!!!!!! Bargain Hunt seen them all before many times and even Flog It with delicious Paul - seen them, seen them, seen them.

Not good viewing anymore. Can't we get something new P L E A S E !!

Hi Tina,
I was a bit dubious about going on the Trinny and Susannah programme, but John Amabale is asking a bit too much of me.
Does Linda Barker do makeovers!
Cheers

I would like to put my old farmhouse to the test on any of your makeover shows, my husband does not really like DIY so to get anything done in our home it is like pedalling backwards uphill.

Hi all
I'm a 57 year old woman and have done all the gardening, decorating and DIY ever since I got married 32 years ago on 26 August. So help from any UK Style programme would be like heaven to me. Garden, any room in the house - you name it - I wouldn't turn any help down. Although I love doing it and find tips from the programmes very helpful.

Trisha,

I will e-mail you direct but if you need help go to the channel 4 website 4homes and then you will find that both Location X3 and Property Ladder are looking for contestents (probably wrong word)...

I met a girl who is building a property on Caphelonia - she bought a double plot years and years ago and has finally plucked up the courage to give up her job as a teacher and move out there - funding the build from the profit on her house... I am not sure if she is going to work out there but her Greek is good enough to teach English to Greek children...

She showed me the plot and it looks wonderful - well she was approached by Grand Designs who are doing a series abroad (should be interestin) but they soon lost interest when they found out that the authorities are really strict on design and she has to build a traditional house... now I would have been interested in seeing someone build a house from scratch in a foreign country - go through all the difficulties of getting permission, finding a builder etc through to the finished - rather than watch people renovate a run down place...

Sorry, but there will be a short intermission for a few weeks each Friday. A new series of House Doctor on Channel 5 is not to be missed. Thank goodness we got Cable digital to ensure we could tune into Channel 5.
Other than that - three cheers for UKTVStyle's (xxxx and a Hug ) daily menu of everything including the kitchen sink.
Keep smiling
Les

I would love a complete makeover for myself as it is my 41st (aaarrrgh) birthday next Tuesday! Didn't want to admit to the last birthday but this is getting serious!!!!
I would also love Laurence LB doing ANYTHING to me, my house, my life................ but I'd settle for some of his wit and knowledge around a dinner table.
Just love UKStyle, wall to wall Channel 407!!!!
Cheers everyone!
Love Elaine xx

Hi Elaine and Les,

Elaine what a co-incidence it was my birthday on the 21st as well - but I turned 47... so the big 50 is approaching.

But my view is that you get out of this life what you put into it - so if you want to be 41 and grumpy that is fine by me... but if you want to get out and enjoy life and your family whilst you can then go for it girl...

Hi Les,

Yes I meant to add - yes I know and I am so looking forward to it, even if I have to miss the first one... its no good me recording it onto tape as whilst I am good a taping things I am not so good at watching them - maybe I should get sky plus?.

I didn't mind my 40th birthday at all. A few years earlier I had decided I wanted to get my degree before I was 40, and I just finished my MSc in time. Rather than bemoaning my age, I was celebrating my success.

Hi, this is the first time I have gone to a chat room.
I would love to go on realrooms, I only have a small kitchen in my flat and as my husband is absolutely useless at DIY it would be great to have someone to give it a face lift and give me ideas on decorating other rooms.

Hi Zanoni,

I have been there with a small kitchen - in the flat I used to live in if you opened the fridge it touched to door of the cupboard on the other side.

I soon learned that you have to be mega organised and have everything (as far as possible) put away - and honestly the only thing you really need out is a kettle and maybe the toaster... once the clutter is gone - paint the room a single light colour to lift and open up the space...

If the units are looking tired then as its only a small space replacing the doors and the drawer fronts will not cost the earth - this is relatively easy to do with an electric screwdriver yourself - just take it one cupboard at a time... or employ a handyman for the day to do it for you... you will be surprised at how little this can cost.

Again keep the look simple and the wood light - I know cream is in but it can look dated - as is pine and also white...

Get into the habit of tidying things away - and get your partner to do the same... and do not think of the space as small thing of it as bijou or compact...

Sue,

I also think LLB is extremely talented...

Trisha,

Good on you for getting your masters... I only leant to drive in my 30's pasing my test after I was 35 and only on the second attempt - I would have passed on my first but I nearly hit a parked car and frightened the examiner so much that he was trying to get out of the car before I did...

I also got the equivilant of a degree - my ILEX exams later in life...

So to all those of you who are feeling your age - get with the programme... And think about the ad "when did you last do something different?" Well when did you?...

I think that will be a good subject for another message on the boards - dont you.

Hi Sue, many thanks for the great tips, I do try to make the most of the room I have.
Long story of cupboard disaster, 2 now have no doors, everything gets dusty. I do all decorating, putting up shelves etc. myself but doing a complete kitchen would be impossible for me, also to expensive.
That is why I would like to go on realrooms, I'm sure they could do a fantastic job.
Thanks once again Bye
