Hello, I'm new here and I'm in dire need of help.
I have a 2 year old son, James, who just wont sleep through the night. I have tried literally everything!!! He has a routine which I am very strict with, I do not let him have juice near bedtime, just water. He eats all his dinner and has the appropriate amount of food everyday. He has a good bedtime routine of reading books before bed, and then says goodnight to baby and me.
Things I have tried to get him sleeping through include every method I have ever come accross. Now considering I have the internet, thats a hell of a lot of methods! I've done the controlled crying to being gentle but firm. Cuddling his favourite toy. I do not use being put in bed as a punishment and never have. I have tried everything!! I'm honestly at my wits end! I also have a 7 month old daughter, she wakes once a night for feeding. My son wakes up at least 4-5 times a night!! As I'm a single mother who works, I find sleep very precious, but rare!
If ANYONE has anything they can think of, please tell me. I'll end up in the nut house if this continues! xx

HI! I had the same problem until we went for a long holiday to Switzerland where local moms told me that they give their children semolina pudding for bedtime. It was magic!!! My daughter also always had a good dinner, so she wasn't hungry by any means. However, semolina pudding works for us. In Switzerland HIPP even sell it as a bed time treat with a picture of moon and stars on a jar (they don't sell it in the UK). Later I found out that Russian moms also give their children sweet milk with semolina for bedtime. They say there's nothing good in semolina except for callories... it makes you put on weight. Well, my daughter has it for two months now and she's not fat. Hope, that will work for you too if you wish to try. Good luck and best wishes!!!! Juliana
