hi, yesterday in B&Q i saw the cutest picture of dalmation puppies, (real ones) in a 101 dalmations (film) frame. you could change the frame at a later date to a plain one, and still have the cute picture for (another) new look when the need arises!

hiya Topps,
when you go into the message board, with the list of all the posts, there is a button on the top right corner that says 'see newest posts' or something similar, so just click that and you get the new ones!

i usualy stick to the red shades for my hair, i have a few red tones naturally, and it seems to work, shame it never lasts long tho'!!! i did say i wanted purple hair for christmas, you know the one with the 'intense colour', but i was told off for even thinking it!! so i had to put up with boring brown with grown out red highlights!!!

i seem to have lost my holiday spirit recently, anyone seen it? i had no fun over new year, christmas was mad, rushing everywhere and breaking down halfway between home and mums on christmas day was no fun, couldn't even get a cuppa!!! least the toilets in the service station were open!! and the nearing valentines day just does nothing for me!!!in fact its more like dread than anything else!!! never mind!!! Smile

hello!!!!! my favourite colour is purple too!!! any shade, shape or size! i have sooooo many purple/lilac clothes its unbelievable!!! i have done my bathroom in lilac, with purple, light green and light blue circles in the corners, with slightly rosey gold accessories. it was on the old boards makeover page, so some of the regulars will have seen it. i am saving all my designs till after the new housing association have done their redevelopments, or we move into a bigger house, whichever is sooner!!! lol
angie, if you ever decide to sell your car, i'd be really really greatful if you gave me the nod before you went public!!! lol

hello.
Scribble Stylies is a community i set up on MSN for the lovely people on the UKStyle message boards a while back. the link was in my profile, available from any of my posts on the old boards, but i will have to hunt down a way of getting there from this new site, as i suspect if i post the web link, it will just be erased. so, hosts, if you know a way of getting to my profile, please let me in on the secret!! :D
the community has 3 message boards: general, recipies and jokes, plus a picture area you can post any decorative items you have done, and a chat room, but as everyone was on different schedules, it was not often we all managed to meet in there!!!
all i ask of members is to be nice, considerate and to post!! (and you have to be registered here and post here). you have to apply to join and all members are accepted by me only, so if you do manage to get there, tell me you are registered here and i'll let you in! Smile

i used to frequent the 'other sides' boards, but haven't been there in a year, so i popped over last week and it was soooooo quiet, no one was replying and hardly any new posts. the reason? they changed the layout and look!!!!! what u think of that!? Smile

hello!! this site does need a little getting used to!
apparently the makeovers bit wasnt very successful, so it was scrapped. as for signing in, you still had to sign in to post a message before, at least now its only once, and you can post and shop and do everything in one.
well, nice to see you again! Smile

hiya, hope i'm not too late, didn't see this thread first time around!! i recently read a great book, caled 'The Atlantis Enigma' by Herbie Brennan. it looks into the possibility that the prophesies that were forseen by Plato are true, and about the search for Atlantis. its a bit dificult to get into, but once you are past the first chapter, it's fab, puts alot of questions in your mind, and makes you think!! i certainly couldn't put it down, maybe thats why i didnt get a very good mark for my project i was doing at that time!!! lol. there is a second one, but i haven't read it yet. It's an oldish book, so you might need to go to the larger libraries to find it. well worth it!! i suggest everyone borrows it from the library, then at least if u dont like it, u haven't spent anything!!!
anyway, i wont spoil the ending, just to say, the book mentions an asteroid, and why Mercury is so tiny compared to the rest of the planets, and the gap that is between two other planets. so there, READ IT!!!! :D

well, that didn't take too long to find- another problem!! after posting the last message, i clicked on the homes + property link in the chain at the top of the page, like we used to do before, and i expected it to take me back to where I was, or even page 1 at least, but no, it took me back in time to 2001!!! and page 1 of that, so, the only way i could go was 2-3-4 etc, further back into 2001!!! then i clicked on the 'see most recent postings' button, and was finally taken where i wanted to be, only now the postings themselves had changed, before it was newest first, and you had to sroll all the way down to find the actual question, and now its at the top!! i wonder what it will do now i finished this posting!!!
so, make that a double vote for the old boards!! :D

Hello all!! nice to see so many familiar faces. have to agree with the colour, it is a bit mad and aches me eyes!!
I also have to put in another vote for the old boards, it helped that the titles changed colour so you could see where you had been!!! (me brain's not what it was!!ol) and the long wait for the new smilies and they dont work here! not fair. I must say, i never had to sign in twice on the old boards. think thats it, but if i think of anything else, i'll be sure to tell!!! Smile

hi, i saw some of the episodes when it was first on, at 10.30ish pm, but still havn't managed to see the lot!!
i think some of the ideas were a bit wacky, but on the whole a brilliant series. I hope to have a 'Fab Pad' of my own one day, so heres hoping!!!lol. one question tho', when Paul goes looking for a stranger, the food is always on the go, so what happens if someone says they will go with him, and they dont like whats on the menu, do they get turned away? I think they should at least pay for a mcdonalds or something if they do!! it would be such a let down!!! Smile

hello. we have single glazed metal frames, and all of them are prone to this problem. the only way i have found for keeping it at bay is to keep one of the windows open a fraction to allow air movement. unfortunatly for me, the bedrooms are not heated and they are very cold, even in summer, so you can imagine how cold it is in winter with a window open, even just a tiny bit!!!! I would suggest trying this, or a small dehumidifier near the window. theres always the old wives tale of a saucer of salt on the windowsill (i think it was sea salt-but dont hold me to it!!)!!!
hope this helps some!!

you must have a lot of time... all those saturdays in your posting!! lol!!! anyway, ive done my cards (dont know many people!!) and wrapped me prezzies, (most done in november!!!) now all i gotta do is pop into town at some point, and get some more stuff for emma, and for me too, coz if i leave it to kevin, ill get something totally weird!!! so, hows that? all organised and everything, now if i can just get emma to go to bed on time, i can have a nice soak in the bath!!!not much chance of that tho, she has a knack of staying awake till one midnight!! (she's only 2, so who knows what she'll be like when she is a teenager!!!)

hi, yes you do need to undercoat/seal any MDF, but if you're not sure if its had a coat, theres no harm in doing it again! you do know that you will need a paint & grain combo to get a wood grain effect on MDF, as it has no grain of its own? just checking!!! Smile

hi, you need to seal it as MDF is very porous, it will suck all the moisture out of the paint and it'll dry all streaky - no matter how many coats you do!!
use PVA glue, or an oil based undercoat, which will be fine to emulsion over. dont forget to do both sides, and let completely dry before painting. Smile

hi, i seem to remember on the advert it leaves a small gap, so if you are painting over a dark colour with a lighter one, you would probably see it. if you use a paintbrush, remember plenty of paint, a steady stroke and a 1.5 inch or above brush, not a tidgy one as you dont get enough paint to get a decent line.

ps, i did post the address and phone number off the telly advert, but it seems to be erased, although there are websites still allowed on here, so it must be just me!!
