Sorry guys im on a role here, got to get it off my chest,
as above, the eldest son of mine has been seeing this girl for 2 months,he is besotted with her, give her her due,she is very sweet to me but i see the other side to her.
She totally controls him,she doesent like him seeing his mate, going out to pub for a few hrs or anything, steves mate actually asked her if him and steve could go to the pub the other day (he was being sarcastic) and when she was going she said to steve "dont you dare spend to much money" Eek

she now wants to get engaged on the 28th june they would have been going out 4 months Eek shes choosing an engagement cake with her mum Eek when i said whats the rush she said well i want a ring {{{alarm bells}}}

She speaks to him so abruptly, shows little affection to him,yet hes all over her.
It breaks my heart to watch,as he has a heart of gold, i have very tactfully mentioned this Roll Eyes but he wont have anything said about her.
Her friend goes out with my other son, they have been together 3 years, she told me the other sons g/friend never talks affectionatly about steve.
I remember when i was dating my husband for months its like walking on air,you cant stop talking about your bloke...but not here.. Confused

My husband tells me to let them get on with it, not easy though.

My other son and his girlfriend i get on brill with, they fight but she is so loving towards him and its so different.

Sorry to go on guys, some advice to an interfering mum would be good right now Roll Eyes...anji

Jacqui,
Trust me girl, having them bring the girls home is a nightmare.

My two eldest 15 and 19 have their girls here EVERY NIGHT Mad and dont even think of suggesting they go to hers.

You get caught up in their silly rows and of course the tears Roll Eyes

It of course dosent help,if you are not keen on his/her choice of partner or like my eldest sons g/friend controls him and talks to him like dirt Mad in front of me Eek i have to sit on my tongue :p and :D smile sweetly.

Sorry just an insight to the joys of your kids dating Roll Eyes .....anji

I too have laminated, as above it does get dusty etc but like the rest say can you imagine if that was in the carpet, the kids spill stuff all the time and forget to take off shoes so in that sence its a relief, you can just mop it over. and it does eliminate pet odours and reliefs my sons asthma, down side,i think myself, i miss the comfort of carpets,it can give a cold feeling, but it also gives the room a classy feel.
If i think about it i wouldent go back to carpet as they can get quite smelly, and with 5 kids and a shed load of pets i think laminated is a better choice.

hi jacqui
oh what a shame about the grass.big gardens have so much potential, write to ground force and get them to do it and when he comes home you can say...SUPRISE..:eeek:

i had loads of flowers when i moved as i transported them all over to the new house..they are all dead now, obviously digging them up and putting in pots was not a good idea... Roll Eyes

Yes gardening can be wonderfull if you know what your doing, which i dont. The garden we have now is full of furniture, which is off to the tip on sunday,,yoo hoo..but unfortunatly i have a tiny garden now compared to my old house and i hate it.I am determind to do somthing to it this year,i couldent be bothered last year,i just spent the summer moaning about it.I have terrible neighbours whos dog is permantly barking in the garden and trying to rip down our new fence Mad keep us updated on your garden, how big is it?...anji
