I am a UKTV style reader here in the US. I visit the UK often and watch when I can.
Being a fan of "Good Neighbors" for years, I was wondering about the actor that played Tom, I believe his name was Richard Brier. We saw him in "Monarch of the Glen" and this year his character died. I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on this fine actor? Didn't hear of his passing or anything, but can't help wondering aabout the actor.

I thought he'd died a few years ago from Alzheimers?

He's still alive, and he's about 71 years old. Only his character died in Monarch of the Glen.

Richard Briers is very much alive and in demand as an actor. Most recently we saw him in the UK in a one-off drama as an elderly widower suffering violence at the hands of his son, and a very fine performance it was too. If you type 'Richard Briers' into the internet search I'm sure you'll find lots more information on his career.

i've seen him as a guest star in the episode 2 of "kingdom" series 2, starred by stephen fry. it was broadcast january / february 2008. single episode giveaway dvd's from daily telegraph available at ebay.co.uk as 2nd hand items.
