If any one can help i would be grateful. I would like to have a single bed built in my box room. Its 7 feet on three sides 5 foot on one side this side has a small box that forms the ceiling to the stairs. It would give my son extra room if i could use this box as part of the bed base. Dose any one have any ideas who to contact orknow if this is possible!

I'm planning on doing the same thing as yourself in my son's room. I haven't built it yet but if you are confident enough with DIY then there shouldn't be any reason why you couldn't attempt to do it yourself.
I have measured the space available and have drawn up plans and measurements. I am planning on using 25mm MDF for the base and constructing 4 curved sides to ensure he doesn't fall out of bed! 
Part of the bed will be supported by the box itself and then I am going to use 4x4 posts underneath to support the foot end then cladding this open area in 18mm MDF. I am also planning on constucting a door on the front for added storage space.
Also, I am planning on constructing a shelving area behind the head end of the bed...again for added storage for DVD's etc as traditional size box rooms are sooooo small!
If this is the way you would like to go, my advice is to visit or phone timber yards in your area to se if any offer a cutting service if you buy the timber from them. I have one close to me therefore all the cuts will be precise as the machines can obviously cut more accurately than me.
According to my measurements, I will need 3 large sheets of 18mm and 1 large sheet of 25mm...thats for the bed and shelving unit.
I am not planning on adding a ladder as my son is 10 and will be tall enough to hop up but again, it would depend how old your child is.
Like I said, I haven't actually built it yet but I'm confident enough with power tools to attempt this myself (role reversal in my home, husband does the cooking!). I think the key thing would be to make sure it is secure by screws and glue...but remember to drill pilot holes in the MDF first or the wood will split.
If you are not confident enough, then by all means get a joiner in although this will obviously cost more than just costing you the price of the materials.
