We are thinking of buying a property locally to us. We would want to do alot of improvements as it has fairly old decor. I would like to know if we knocked the walls through from the Kitchen to the Lounge/Diner would this improve the value of the property? We like the idea of an open plan area with all new furniture and fixings. Please help.......... Confused

It would only improve the value of the property based upon the market in your area. If you are looking to sell to young professionals, then open plan will likely appeal. However, if you are looking to sell to the family market, many families prefer to have separate reception rooms. I would suggest you talk to your local estate agents to see if knocking thru the space will add value.

Good luck! Smile
