we found it best to stay home for a week and remind every 30 45 minuets
make it fun even turn it into a game make the toilet the place to use by having a reward for the toilet over the potty special toy or story time if toilet used make sure what ever you chose is only available if toilet used.
my son wont use the potty only the toilet but he will not do a poo on the toilet or potty no matter how much encouragement he hides and uses his pants then runs to tell you as he is unhappy with whats happened
he is dry through the day so long as he is reminded hes been at school 3 days now and had an accident so we have ensured hes not had to much to drink before hand as he gets milk at school[nursery] he is not happy with there toilets yet he needs to get his confidence with new places
problem with poo aside he was dry!! in a week this way he only has a nappy at night as he is 3 we tried the potty first but it seemed to hold things up so we switched to the toilet lets face it who wants to drag a potty around but make sure you get a child seat to take with you when out perching on the edge in public toilets only upset him now he has his OWN seat hes happy i found on which folds up but still very sturdy don't know if this helps anyone with ideas about how to solve our problem on the poo front suggestions welcome Smile
