What window dressing for new Rosewood uPVC windows?

We have just had new uPVC windows fitted (tip: Don't have windows fitted in 70mph winds and heavy rain!). Anyway... they are rosewood (dark wood like mahogany) on the outside and white on the inside.

On the old windows we had nets... hmmm... they were left by the lady we bought the house from... they were ok, all matched, a bit florally, and very wide so lots of pleats. Problem is nets are a bit old hat these so we fancy something a little more up-to-date, plus I want the same in each room (so everything matches when viewed from the outside).

We like the look of wood horizontal blinds in Ikea, which we intend to use in place of nets and then use curtains as internal dressing (some will be just for show)...but what colour blinds? The dark wood blinds *almost* match the outside frames... but not quite. Plus we had white windows on the inside so it wasn't so dark inside and dark wood blinds would negate that. So we tried the light wood one (pine?) and they really didn't match the outside... looked quite odd in fact but looked lovely on the inside and pretty much matched all colour schemes we already have.

Finally we have tried the cream wood ones, they look nice on the inside and co-ordinate with the outside, in a kinda coffee and cream way (plus the stucco on the bottom of the house is painted cream). Also, with creamy white blinds they can match any interior as cream is so neutral.

So... before I go spend £200 on cream wood blinds... what your opinion? Does having white wooden blinds mean they will not look like wood? Are nets better? The old nets were affixed to the old frames, so not sure how nets would be attached with new windows anyway! Is there a better option? What's the trend?

I am very confused!

I have a bit of a fetish for window dressings!! So i think your right in choosing cream or white blinds at the window. I think the look is very clean classy and contemporary and if you have the same all over it gives it a very posh look from the outside!!! I think that quality shows, and that they will look like wood, kind of french/swedish. If you decide to go for nets, id say go for voile instead. You can get special rods for upvc windows but ive found that they dont stay up for long, so ive used tension rods which i got from dunelm and stuck tie-blinds/voile on them and they can look just as nice if its all matchin!!!hope my info helps1!! good luck...
