Hello. i recently bought a 1930's detached house. A great size lounge, great size dinig room and a tiny kitchen. I am debating to turn the dining room into a kithen diner and the tiny kitchen into a study/ playroom. so we would be adding an extra room having a study. My wife is a teacher so there is alot of paper work also we have a baby on the way.. Any advice please....

Hi i,ve also moved into a simular property, good size lounge, dining room and a rather small kitchen. I have a little one (well not so little anymore 3) but i was toying with the idea. I came to the conclusion that it was a bad idea, with having lots of toys as all kids do, i find that my son uses the dining room as a playroom as well, and we make do with the kitchen.

We may have the same problem soon, and i would prefer a bigger kitchen and wanted to extend into the lounge and make the dinng room the lounge, but as my hubby has said, you don't spend half as much time in the kitchen as you do in the living room or dinning room, if u are always in the kitchen and fel unsafe cooking then i would say change but if it is just coz i like a kitchen diner than i wthink i would say as i am. It is easier to stop little ones getting into a small kitchen as they is no where for them to play so they just don't bother trying.
